This is part 1 in our series, of our 2,000-mile maintenance tips and review of my 2019 RZR Turbo S Dynamix. I figured we can add to the maintenance video, by showing you the real-world wear on my RZR, and provide some tips and tricks to keep your RZR running trouble-free. I haven't really done a complete ride review, but as I'm working on it, talking about the nuances of the RZR and showing how well things have held up, will add to it and give you a good idea of what you can expect, if you are looking to buy Turbo S, or looking to take care of it.
Part 1 is useful for keeping your belts from exploding, you always hear about dreaded belt failures, but I've managed to make 2,000 miles on 33" tires and paddles, on the stock belt.
Comment below on any other tips or tricks you may have, to preserve belt life!!

Coming from the CVT snowmobile world, we use 3M Scotch Brite pads and ‘scrub’ more at an angle, like a 45* all the way around, then 45* the other direction creating a crosshatch. I even gently scuff the glaze off my belts, then use Acetone to wipe everything down. I understand it’s a lot more difficult to keep on top of dirt and sand then snow, but as your video states, clean, clean, clean, and you should seldom, if ever have to replace a clutch part.

People who don’t transition in from snowmobiles put the most damage on the belts. You need to full throttle for at least a half a second to get the clutch to clamp down on the belt you will hear it come together then you can back off of it. If you feather into the throttle from start you will put plenty of wear on your belt. Seen plenty of green horns on the mountain tearing up belts that way on the ski resort.

You make alot of good videos and have alot of good content but just so everyone doesn't do this and get stranded I'm going to "help out" the community a bit. First-if you ever take off your secondary or primary and split them, always mark them. They are two or more parts and are balanced from the factory so they must go back they way they came apart or you will end up damaging your machine. Second-make sure you put your primary back the correct way. The rib goes to the outside. This will result in top speed limits, vibration and other issues. Third-if you can keep from it, do not rotate your clutch clockwise as it can knock out your timing. It should always be turned the way it runs under its own power. I wasn't trying to be an ass but your showing them how to blow belts,damage engine-trans parts. I'm not going to say anything negative about you or what your doing because that's just counterproductive but if your going to put out a video claiming belt life and what to do......make sure it right. I do apologize if this came out bad. I didn't mean it that way but your showing what not to do even though we know you mean well and want The best for all.

You are probably right on a lot of these points, but just some food for thought- this same car has 2,100 more miles on in with no belt or clutch issues, in the dunes, moab, and baja. Not saying your wrong (makes a lot of sense), but also, what I've done hasn't caused any issues with lots more real offroading. I'm no Polaris certified tech nor do I claim to be, but if this video gets guys to at least crack into their clutches, and maintain them, they could have 4,100 belt breakless miles, like this RZR.

I don't, I think they need to do this testing with the production driveline in March, and IF (big IF) there are no issues they might be ready to go. I'd like to see the production body panels as well. IDK I don't know more than anyone else, a few of their people are still saying April, but I think late May-June is more realistic (this being optimistic).

@@ChupacabraOffroad I have seen other videos in which they say it is. I know those things are balanced at the factory. @@brandonfields2377 That can work for the first few years, and the real question is how many family rides will you do when your kid is that age. Can you let the wife and kid take the RZR while you follow on a dirt bike? Those jumper seats don't look overly safe, never tried one, but I haven't driven at a good pace with my kids until he reachest 5, that's just my comfort level. I assume a 4 seater in your terrain could be really big, but I hope this helps with your decision. A RZR 900 has a short wheelbase and is really fun in its intended terrain, versus an X3 Max which is super long. You might want to consider the Yamaha Wolverine RMax 1000, it looks like a cool unit that can be sporty, and offer the jumper seats in back, so you can have your cake and eat it too.

So how do you drive a vehicle with a CVT transmission?
@ChupacabraOffroad
@ChupacabraOffroad 3 жыл бұрын
Don't use 2 feet (using both pedals at once) and carrying momentum through corners, to me, helps a lot with belt life. Being mindful of belt slippage (rock crawling a steep rock, or a hot day in the dunes under a load) and try and adjust your throttle accordingly. Sometimes a belt failure comes out of the blue, but there are a lot of racers, much faster than me, that push their heavy SxS's very fast without issues.
@jasonkubitz9410
@jasonkubitz9410 2 ай бұрын
I agree with those driving habits. Also, don't stab the throttle. That's what get these belts. I blew my first one on my 2018 XP4 Turbo at 2600 miles. We do a lot of slow speed crawling in Superstition so I think that's what made it fail. Scary thing tho, it blew at 65mph on my way to the Trussel along the trail tracks. The belt didn't shred but broke and then lodged in between the secondary and the housing. It locked up the trans and I almost rolled. I had my two boys with me. Luckily I recovered and got us over to the side to change the belt. I'm pretty sure it blew because I've neglected to clean my clutches with nothing more than compressed air for the last couple desert seasons. Time for a good scuff with the kitchen sponge. Great video!
