Dupont actually makes a spray called ice and snow repellent, Works fantastic all those other suggestions about silicone spray and WD-40 all that stuff does not work as well!

Thank you! I just bought some bottles and was curious if anyone had any luck using them on snowblowers. Your video was music to my ears!

New solution to an old issue.I've been using a Johnson paste wax on my tractors snow blower for years! Very old product, originally used for floors at one time ! In my youth I would shine up the wooden runners of my sleigh to increase downhill speed and distance!! Though of going to cross country ski shop to purchase ski wax to see if that would have an improvement?

I’ve been using that since last year. This time though, here on Long Island we had weird snow, changing to rain, changing to snow etc. No matter what we tried in my neighborhood, the sludge kept stuffing the chutes. So it was shoveling time. Last night we had freezing rain and now at nearly noon, everything is clad in sheet ice.

I agree. The rain turning things into sludgy soup is the worst. It's cold and soaks into everything, gets super heavy, and basically shuts down all the normal tools.

Thanks, man. Short and to the point. Gonna buy some for the car. I've heard that it's useful to spray on door and window seals to keep them from sticking in freezing weather.

Just use ceramic coating. Good for a year or two before you re apply. You'll throw farther and no clogs

This video using the Dupont Non Stick Dry Film is 3 years old. In the 4 years ago video you used Dupont Snow and Ice spray. Why did you switch Dupont products? Was the Snow and Ice version not working. Does this Non Stick Dry Film version work better that the supposedly made for snow blowers "Snow and Ice" version ?

It is good for very cold temperatures. Just bought a can last night.

Use extreme caution. This is legitimately a can of PFAS. It’s a known and recognized carcinogen. It should only be used for industrial applications after a risk / benefit study is conducted

Snowblowers do not come with sticks. where do you get yours? I've also seen others use Dupont Silicon Teflon spray. Has yours been animal-tested?

Every new snowblower I have seen comes with an included clog cleaning tool.

Thank you Peter for the video.. How often should it be applied to my snowblower? Once a winter of every use? Or is it once applied you don't need to apply it again?
@petervonpanda4 жыл бұрын
I only apply it once a year but if you get snow frequently, you may need to do it more often
@rogervondach12382 жыл бұрын
Well, first of all, what you are using is not a snow-blower, it's a snow-thrower. They hardley ever clog up, but they don't like heavy snow. Second, that spray might be good, however, it's way too expensive. Some cheap cooking spray works the same or even a good coating of WD-40
@samspade40502 жыл бұрын
Well first of all who cares that he called it the incorrect term , secondly using cooking spray or wd30 doesn’t work cooking spray congeals in cold weather

Guys......... Look into ceramic coatings for your blower augers/housings/chutes. Game over for sticky/wet snow. Jump into the 21st century and leave all of those lame-ass silicone sprays where they belong. In a drawer waiting for a squeaky door hinge.

WRONG. Using lubricant on your blower will shorten its life. Cold temps turn lubricants and oils into a viscous, sticky mess. Where do these people get this info? Don't use lubricants on your snow blower chute!!
@EndlessNico2 жыл бұрын
This has a working temperature range of -100 degrees Fahrenheit to 480 degrees Fahrenheit. The temp range is right on the can.
