I just know that I prefer a lacquer finish over poly because I feel that it ages better. I want it to start rubbing down to the wood, cracking, all of that. I don’t believe that it impacts the sound.

Main difference is the position of the pickups ,on the Sg the neck pickup is further away from the 22 fret ,& the bridge pickup on the SG is closer to the bridge

I'm not a fan of the Brown Note myself. It's kind of a shitty sound, in my personal opion. Also in my opinion the black one just always makes it look a little bigger. You just end up expecting to hear more of a baritone sound whenever you see a black one. I think for now on though, Im just going to have to stick with the black ones. I can't really see myself going back anymore... Even if it always give me a weird high pitched shrill sound every time I stick it back in.

I watched a Radio Shack store manager while talking to two seniors about cellular phones and service. Having 31 years in telecommunications under my belt, managing hundreds of cellular phones and other communications equipment from standard old POTS to Ku Satellite earth stations to include HF, VHF, UHF, radio systems I can tell you he LIED to them with the intent to just make a sell them something they didn't need. When he went to take a quick phone call I told them to run that he was completely lying to them, fortunately they did and thanked me on the way out the door. Trust but verify, do your homework so you can make an educated decision and not get ripped off.

Yeah, I agree. Also what you wear makes a difference. If you want a real clean, crisp, classy tone wear a tuxedo. If you want a heavy hard rock tone, wear a black leather jacket, blue jeans and grow a goatie beard. If you want a garage band sound wear cheap trainers and flowery hippie shorts/stripy shirt combo. If you want to sort of sound chic and sexy wear a dress. No rule is hard and fast so you have to experiment to find your perfect tone. High heels/biker jacket/suede jeans/black wig may sound way better than steel toe-capped work boots/silk kimono/Stetson hat. Also which power point you plug into. The one which gets the sun streaming on it may sound warmer than the shaded one behind the sofa. I'm defo gonna try the gig bag thing; it'll save thousands if all I have to do is buy a new case. I think it's more how much there is wood than the body model. Wood amount makes sound different, but of course there is also other little differences.

LP is contoured top, SG is flat top. Angle of pickups to strings causes "string vibration wave" to land on pickup coils at differing points in the wave, hence the difference in tone.

Don't forget that the color of the shirt you are wearing has an effect too! Different dyes and materials have different resonate frequencies resulting in how the notes vibrate through the body thus changing the tone of your fingers!

It has more to do with feel ,playability and durability. If you play guitar a lot on the road and change strings and tunings a lot, and put a lot of wear on your guitar then you will want a more solidly built one. You can generally get lower action with better guitars as well. And if you play a cheap guitar and compare it to a more expensive guitar it does sound better.

Technically it's a newly identified phenomenon known as color guitar case sound bleed through. Actually, black cases produce a darker sound. Brown makes for a more warmer earthy tone. And of course white projects the brightest audio sounds.

Oh damn. I don't have a case for any of my guitars. Maybe that's why my playing isn't any good. Gotta keep it in the case or you lose it!? Personally I find dot inlays sound more woody and work well for acoustic tones allowing for more wood. But if you want metal you need pearly inlay. That's why Gibson does big ones and why Jackson has the slashes to add more cut to the bass strings but keep the trebles warmer

Buddy shape, weight, wood grain, type of coating, pickups. No to pick ups are the same. The body weight and shape makes a huge difference. It’s where the sound travels to and from. Nitro cellulose is breathable and allows the wood to vibrate the only other finish that does that is the hand finish polish. Eastman guitars does this. I’ve been fortunate enough to have many guitar endorsements. Gibson, fender, ESP, Epiphone, Kramer, Fernandez, Cordova. I have learned from remarkable luthiers over the years, that everything matters. And adjacent piece of wood, cut from the same tree and side-by-side, will sound completely different being cut to the same Specifics as each other. Meaning two of the exact same guitar is manufactured next to each other on the same day and the same wood, will sound completely different. I thought it was crazy to when I was first starting out

Don't agree with you at all on that. I had built guitars and being able to replicate the same sounds of a 1950s Les Paul on a prs type body just as an example. The only only thing would affect your tone is the scale of the neck and wiring scheme if you're using the same pick ups being pick or blue don't add neither take away tone

That is awesome.. guitar case tones. I've been arguing with people online since Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins said that when he was a Guitar Center. Color does not affect the sound of your guitar. In fact all paint starts out as a white milky pigment before you add the color tint to it. So basically you're playing a white guitar. While I love your content and channel, I disagree and think there is enough of a difference between poly and nitro to consider it when buying. It feels different, wears different, looks different and however small the effect does sound different.
