It is an underrated game. I played the c64 version a lot. It's very arcade!

All the versions i have seen, Spectrum, MSX and C64, uses character graphics, I am not sure they used sprites at all. You can see when the player dies the black background is visible when he falls of the train. Actually there is a homebrew version out for Intellivision, which will be available fro sale later, its quite good and uses Sprites way more then the original 80s versions previous mentioned. I think the game was first released on the Sharp X1 a Japanese computer, and I guess that system lack of sprites, so all the other version was converted from that version they just made quick ports without using sprites at all. The Sharp X1 version and the MSX version looks very alike. Like the text in the game and colors.
