Are you the same as me, and missed this important area when cleaning? A simple 10 minute job may help prevent rust. I hope this helps.

Thanks for watching and for leaving a comment. It seems this area of dirt collection is common in many types of vehicles :)

Thank you for taking the time to make such a clear and comprehensive, helpful video with great camera work and sound. Slightly jealous of your garage!

Hi Rebecca, thanks for watching and for taking time to post such a kind comment. Sadly it's not my garage but it is owned by a good friend who give me free rein to use it. :)

Thanks for this warning and tip. I will also give this area a spray with ACF50 as a rust presentative in case there are any pinholes in the paint and sealant.

No problem. The idea of giving it a spray with ACF50 is really good. Thanks for the tip.

I’m currently away on holiday, but I can’t wait to get home and give this a go. I get loads of leaves and sycamore seeds across the front of the bonnet beneath the window, so I would imagine my door sills are pretty full with detritus. Thanks for a great vid.

Thanks for watching and for taking time to comment Mark. Yes, that area near the bonnet can also be a problem, when debris gets in there it can block up the small drain holes just under the wiper arm fitting. Once that blocks up rainwater can really only escape where the fitting goes into the bodywork :(

Mine seem to be full mainly with leaves. It's a mystery how they even get there.

Yes, as you saw I had one or two leaves in there as well. I wonder if they drop down in the little gap at the front of the doors?

I have been getting my 13 plate NV camper ready for sale, as i have just got the all electric version as my next camper project. I took the tow bar off to swap over to the new van and thought i would clean up underneath and grease the mechanism then paint the spare wheel holder, whilst under i noticed the vertical face of the rear most panel seen from under the van was surprisingly flakey it is a curved full width section, not too rusty as i think they are galvanised, i pressure washed all under the rear at the weekend , gave it a brass wire brush off used rustins rust converter on Monday and yesterday gave it two coats of zinc chassis paint, not a bad job, i noticed also that the factory paint on the inner sills just in front of the rear wheels as viewed from underneath also looks to be wearing off so that is today's job. IMPORTANT, on my 3 year old electric version (same body shell) the drain hole in the rear body section was clogged and there was about 3 pints of water in the drivers side. Gain access through the louvre plastic panel (2 philips screws) low down in rear corners look as far down as you can inside, both my vans will be getting cleaned and wax oil applied and the drains cleaned, a 6mm cable tie seems perfect for clearing drain holes. One day it will be ready for sale ha ha. Ed

It seems that there are drainage issues on most vehicles, including the NV200. Sounds like you are doing a thorough job there Ed. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
