Sieg makes excellent small machines. I was lucky enough to obtain their SX3 mill when Grizzly sold them here in the US, and it was the best purchase I ever made.

Great idea to 3D print one. I'm gonna try to design one for me. Just learning FreeCad and would make a great project.

ouch, Dang you're brave. I've seen a larger lathe go "weed wacker mode" and don't play like that.

I like that idea as i can think of many more uses, like lapping or filing without getting the paste and filings all over the Ways

Another great idea.

❤Another benefit is using the chuck this end for polishing. No dust on the slides. I would make an extra tray to catch debris.

And it can also be used to turn the spindle by hand for tapping.

@@myfordboy A multitude of uses then, how about an indexing disk. One of my work colleagues had a 3/4" steel bar whip him across the side of his head. Ended up severely brain damaged. Took him 10 years to be able to just about walk.

@@jamesmoody562 Terrible injury. So my anti whip tool has several other uses. Depth stop, dividing head, hand wheel and polishing and lapping .

I like your project. It could also function as a chuck depth stop. Think I have a small chuck somewhere. 🎉🎉

That's a good idea, something I had not thought of.

Just shows that injuries can happen with small tools/machines same as big tools. Hope you're doing okay. I've been thinking about buying a Sieg lathe, Would you recommend that brand or some other brand? Thanks for the video!
@myfordboy2 ай бұрын
I have this C0 lathe and a Myford ML10. I can't commet on other Sieg models but for small work the Sieg is better than the Myford due to it's higher speed.

Is there a QC tool post for the C0 micro-lathe? I've never seen one and the stock tool post is terrible.
@myfordboy2 ай бұрын
A QC would take up too much room. I don't have any problems using the toolholder that takes 2 tools. I keep a turning tool and parting tool in it and have another with other tools. A single screw will swapp them over.
@backwardsmachining75262 ай бұрын
Yea ive done that with 3/8 MIC and its not fun. Scares the hell out of for one lol

Why secure the spindle with loctite? Why not turn the hole about .003" under size and press the spindle in?
@jackfromthe60s2 ай бұрын
Because Loctite is easier?
@myfordboy2 ай бұрын
I prefer Loctite.

Cool! But why "spider"?
@tomt95432 ай бұрын
Many of these devices use a pipe-like barrel with three or four. Screws that tighten up against the stock. Viewed from the end, they resemble a spider. Hence the name! This one is the most elaborate version I’ve ever seen! But nice!

Видимо не угомонится пока ему кумпол не раскроит, или глаза не по вышибает. Чудо, трубу просто металлическую поставь длинную, чтобы прут внутри неё вращался.

That was a nasty cut there. I didn't see any adult language in the subtitles. Do be careful of that spinning chuck on the back of the headstock. It could give an even worse bit! Cheers Nobby
