Overthinking about my future is something I fall victim to at times but I try to remind myself in those moments that if I was myself a year ago looking at where I'm at today, I'd be beyond grateful. Centering myself in that way has really helped me with that struggle. This was an awesome video Vincent. You never disappoint!

Money and success is a mindset! I stopped caring so much about what others thought, and it truly changed my life for the better. A few people can speak into my life about my life, and that’s all. All others is just noise

Great video. I grew up with money. Money did not always equal being happy or not feeling stress. I was born with some disabilities and have never been able to work a steady job. I’m on disability and have been grateful for everything I have. Over the years, my life has only improved.

I think this is something that more people need to hear. I was always confused by extreme positivity in people. Just be happy all the time and your life will be better never made sense. But it's all about the experience here and now. Wether it's happy or sad is just part of the experience. It's a journey not a destination

@@VincentChan Yes sure, here is my story: I'm almost 23, was trying to become a successful musician and I actually got to a point with 10s of millions of streams and $100k in 2 years. However the reality is that I got dropped and am really struggling to make money with it at all now and find my new team. It feels like I failed you know.. And I don't even know I want to continue this path or pursue my interest in entrepreneurship. But your video just made me realise it may be better to approach anything in life from intentions, rather than pressuring myself to achieve 'x' result or else I'm a loser. As stupid as it sounds I feel really behind in life now compared to my peers etc who took traditional routes, earning good money etc. But I think it's about putting ego aside, taking a step back with getting consistent cashflow first with a job, and then work on my music/business next to it. But this time with a mindset approach of working from intentions and enjoying it. It's the best for me and I will create better work from this approach I believe.

Bro be out here basically just selling ancient philosophy and religion. LOL. Ok, no seriously, it was a GREAT video, loved it. But I definitely saw a lot of parallels with "ancient wisdom" in various faiths and schools of thought. This video especially seems to touch on ideas found in Wu Wei. They say there is nothing new under the sun, and it's probably true. Much of what you said is already ancient and known wisdom, but sometimes in our current cultural state or amidst trends and fads or the recent tech developments we forget this stuff. It seems that you've successfully repackaged that ancient wisdom so the current generation can understand it. This is an absolute service to society and I wish more people would do it. So thanks.

Problem is too many people equate success with money. We need to think of success in completely different terms. It's people and emotions and our mindset that create happiness and feelings of success. Sure money is important to live but we greatly exaggerated how much money we need to be satisfied. Ultimately success and happiness is a journey and not a designation.
@VincentChan
@VincentChan Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, couldn't agree more! Success is often associated with money, but true success goes far beyond financial wealth. So, on your own personal journey, what are some non-monetary achievements or milestones that have brought you a sense of fulfillment and happiness?

@@VincentChan There are a couple of reasons. I grew up with very little and almost could never get what I wanted. As I grew older I could get what I wanted but after a short period of indulgence I realized it didn't make me happy. So I redirected my mindset and found what did make me happy. The end result is I don't want much. So the key points are experiencing fulfilling desires and experiencing not fulfilling those desires. After that you can decide what you need to be happy.

I feel that detaching or drawing back from money, when done with responsible hands (!) is the key. Every time the market fluctuates some friends get freaky with their retirement accounts. I can’t advise. But I can suggest. Sit tight sister! Real estate too! Unless I’m a flipper or I’ll likely be washed away, and we’re not, just chill. I get the power and flow of money. It’s worked for me. But I don’t know how to teach it so I’m so thankful you’re trying! 💙.

I am 23 years old and make 173k a year, 420k in savings and investment so far, no debt. and single guy. I save 85% of my income and was told to invest all of it and live below my means, I was told to not buy cars since its a depreciating asset. But I really want a Lexus that cost 30k used... What is the point of living below your means and saving so much and I cant enjoy my money and need to wait until retirement to enjoy it (delayed gratification)? Should I buy the 30k Lexus and enjoy life a little?
@VincentChan
@VincentChan Жыл бұрын
While living below your means and saving for the future is important, it's equally important to find a balance and enjoy life along the way. If owning that Lexus brings you genuine joy and doesn't compromise your financial stability, why not treat yourself? Life is meant to be enjoyed, and as long as you make thoughtful decisions, there's nothing wrong with indulging in something you truly desire :).

@@VincentChan I'm about half way through The Psychology of Money, which has similar themes as well. Otherwise on a broader spiritual side the Tao Te Ching has the same mantra of "doing nothing". The more force you put in the more trap you are. It's fun to balance out strictly material books with spiritual books in my opinion. It's a reminder that all there is to gain isn't just in the physical form.
