As someone with debilitating perfectionism this was really helpful to hear. Thanks!

There is a healthy balance between not losing yourself in perfectionism and having standards, but I think this mindset goes too much on the former camp. When you're making music don't just go through the motions, you have to be TRYING, otherwise you're just going to end up in the wrong side of Sturgeon's Law and lose out to Suno in both quality and quantity. Focusing on finishing in order to learn and improve is great advice, but if you have no standards you will only learn to be mediocre. Instead of aiming for greatness, aim for the *best you can do* , not "do it however" which seems to be the point the video is trying to make.

I agree with this I tried really hard back in the day and then got more success once I relaxed and just made music.

This is probably the worst thing you could tell anyone who's going to look up videos like these. There are som many problematic things about it. You can control it, you have full control, saying anything else is completely delusional and misleading. The issues with being "prolific" is that you forget to do the actual things that normal people do. Those things fuel good music. Setting up a goal to "win" that isn't possible to fail as long as you do the thing will lead to you being someone impossible to work with, because when you get a chance you're going to act like a complete dumbass and make fool out of yourself because you feel like you're the main character.

Don't know what kind of music career you've had so far buddy, but relax you're probably never going to "make it" anyway so just try to enjoy making music if that's what you want to do. AI is gonna devalue what you create anyway

@@blakasmurf Uh, what are you talking about? What do you think you're saying? 1) i've been doing it fulltime for 20 years and the last few years have been my best (500k+ income and being very happy) 2) I like AI and embrace, the fuck are you on about? 3) I enjoy it to the point of doing it 18 hours a day no weekends and actively take less money to make it more fun. What exactly did you think you replied to?
