STOP Using Spaghetti Emitters In Your Garden! | Best Way To Water Gardens And Raised Bed Planters

Swapping out 1/2" poly emitters and 1/4" in-line emitter line in my garden with 5/8" drip tape.

You remind me of me! I've installed all types of drip irrigation throughout my property and used all manner of drip emitters, sprayers, bubblers, misters, drip lines, etc. You name it and I've probably tried it. Like how your videos show all your mistakes until you get to the final result. I was chuckling during the video because I can remember myself running around like mad trying to fix leaks and having emitters blow and soak me until finally saying "Screw This" and taking a break to get a drink. Question: Won't the drip tape eventually clog from minerals in the water like your 1/4" drip lines before? Continue to make videos and taking us along with you.

Bob your comment was super kind, thanks for sharing! Yes, the drip tape does get some deposits on it but far less than the other emitters I've used. I've been able to roll it in my fingers a bit and break off some of the deposits, but I fully expect to replace the lines in 2 years or so. That's one of my favorite parts about the EZ-Loc system, there's no compression fittings, so it's way easier to swap out parts. There are in-line calcium/chlorine filters that you can install but I haven't felt inclined to add it. There are a lot of people that get blossom end rot which is a sign of calcium deficiency anyway, so why filter out more minerals from the water? That's my thought, anyway... zero science to back it up :D

Fun trick for the end of the drip tape. You don't need to buy any end caps. Simply cut the tape, and make long folds onto itself just like you would for the caps you bought. BUT, then you bend the ends into a taco (pinching the sides together). Cut another 3-inch section of the tape and then slide that 'sleeve' over the folded tape. As long as you have tape, you'll always be able to create an end cap and it doesn't drip! Once the water hits it, it pretty much straightens right out. Glad it worked for you!
