Buying tools comes with the territory of being a woodworker and I think I've bought my fair share of em'. Some I DEEPLY regret and others I just felt kinda "meh" about. These tools here though...I should have bought them A LOT sooner! Let me know what you think!?
Enjoy!

I’m a Festool fan. But their sanders were not one of the things on my list. UNTIL…. I started having lots of allergy issues from other sanders. Even while wearing dust masks. I’d wear my RZ mask and sure it helped while I was sanding. But the sawdust it left everywhere was easily disturbed and would always find it’s way into my system. The shop was always covered in dust. The DOmino was first… wish I had bought it sooner. THe track saw was next…. Wish I got it sooner. And then the sander…. Should have bought it sooner as well. THen… my second sander. LOL. I have a Rotex and the one you showed. Love them!!!! Of course… I have the dust extractor. Got it when I bought the track saw. And I splurged earlier this year and got an MFT/3 table. LOVE IT!!!!

Holy smokes Angie! 1st. Thanks for binging a couple of my videos! 🙏 2nd. Wow! A Festool fan indeed! 🤣 The sander and the CT 48 are the only things I have. FOR NOW! A domino and track saw are definitely on the wish list. How do you like the Rotex?

Oh man! I got a laser level not to long ago when I was working on a subway tile wall. GAMECHANGER. Only thing about it is its a "cheaper" amazon one (like 150ish bucks) and it doesnt work too well out in the sun. But for indoors I havent had a problem with it.

I've heard pretty good things about the Makita. It's always hard to tell people that they should spend X amount of dollars on tools. Everybodies budget is different. I personally am at the point where I know this whole making/woodworking thing is going to a part of my life for the forseeable future so I may as well invest in it. I'm priviledged enough to have the means to do so. But it wasn't always that way. Hence. The ridgid sander. 😂 BUT it was a heck of a let better than doing it by hand. So in that sense. 50 bucks well spent! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. 🙏

@@arthur962 I have never cleaned a blade. 😬 To be honest I've until very recently always used "disposable" (diablo) blades. Now that I have some more premium-ish blades I'd like to get a good cleaning solution for them.

17% more space on the sander from 5 inch to 6 inch
@JasonGrissom
@JasonGrissom 10 ай бұрын
Hmm...maybe my math is wrong but from what im getting. 5 to 6 is only ~17% increase but since were talking about surface area of a circle I think it'd be ~19.6 inches squared at 5 inches and ~28.2 inches squared at 6 inches. Making it a 43% increase. But its 150mm not 6 inches so thats why my number in the video was a bit smaller. But hey! It wouldnt be the 1st time I didnt know what I was doing. 😂
@chrisjaustin88
@chrisjaustin88 10 ай бұрын
@JasonGrissom nope ypu got me. I needed to calculate the ratio with the area of the circles. You were right in the video. It's a 30% increase in area. Geez when you think about jumping from a 5 to 6 inch sander you don't think about a significant jump like that. Touche good sir.

@@chrisjaustin88 😂 hey im just waiting for someone to come and say were BOTH wrong now. But yeah. Regardless of what percentage it breaks down to. It's funny, I have every tool you show here in multiple configurations. As far as the festool Sanders....if you don't have it already you need to get a festool vacuum to go along with it....the anti static features keep the Sanders from burning out the electronics.....ask me how I know....lol
