Yeah I also always buy football shoes for 50-70% off the price. Adidas in my country has some discount stores where they sell old flagships with huge discounts. They discount the price even on older colorways of the latest model so it's very convenient. And yes you can easily tell the difference between the cheaper ones and the expensive ones, no difference in skills but cheaper ones are usually hella uncomfortable. I had the cheapest Tiempo 8s (I had to buy them 1 hour before a game since I couldn't use my SG shoes, I decided to buy the cheapest ones since I would have used them just a few times), the triangles hurt so much you can't even imagine. Never touched them again they were awful. Did it make me miss passes or shots? No, I even scored in that game. But Jesus I couldn't even concentrate on the game for how much they hurt. Right now I'm using adidas ghosted X.1 (have them both FG and SG) and I don't even notice I'm wearing a pair of shoes for how lightweight and thin they are.

A slight dampening change on the strut in motorsports can cut your time by a bit and enabling the driver to have more control. Higher end boots tend to have better lock down and more aggressive stud patterns for changing direction quicker and they’re higher quality material tends to be more comfortable

It depends on the person imo Placebo effect is real and using more expensive equipment may help with more confidence; On the flip side cheaper equipment can be well, cheaply made and thus aren't durable or reliable enough. For me, having played football, basketball and badminton,it all just depends on the quality and durability of the equipment (balls, racquets, shoes, etc). Some expensive or "branded" stuff may not last long, and some cheaply made products may actually hinder your performance. Value or worth-the-price products are the best regardless of budget imo.

It's not about price only, normal people can't afford much expensive & they know it... They never try to buy expensive ones, but I am telling you, the longevity has a huge difference. If you buy a cheap brand shoes, it's gonna finished within a year or 1.5 years at max if used regularly. But an expensive one would probably go for 3-4 years with minor damages which can be tackled by local skills... It will save you more money... But restricts you to change boots regularly(assuming you can't afford more than 1 or 2 expensive boots).

It's not about making you better, but about helping you in what you're already good at. For example - i'm a winger so i benefit from boots that are lightweight, have studs shaped in a way that make quick turns easier, and it's easy to cross with them. That's why the best boots i've ever had and i performed the best with were 1st gen hypervenoms. I also had adipro11s as an emergency pair back then, and let me tell you - i played like shit with them. Not because they are bad (they are good boots objectively speaking), but because of weight, structure etc. Second thing (maybe even more important) - comfort and quality, which is pretty self explanatory. Of course, when you're shitty, no boots will help you, and if you're really really good, you will be good even barefoot, but what i wrote earlier is still relevant. So yeah, you have a point but it's kinda boomer speech

However if you are not as fortunate as me and don’t have the money. It may not make you better but it’s got to do with longevity as well as comfort. I bought a pair of adidas predator 20.3 and within 5 months was in hospital because of a dislocated foot caused because the stud broke while playing on soft ground. I could assume that the high-end much more comfortable than the lower version that gives me blisters every time i wear it while the top one doesn’t. bruh! Elite model provides so much more traction than academy models. They're lighter, comfier and fit way better than academy and pro models. As a coach, I would never tell my kids to not get those boots if they can afford it. A large portion of my expenses in clothing/footwear goes towards my boots because of how important they are to performance.
