I think this is a good informative video since quality of movies and stories has deteriorated a lot over time. Not only in picking standard archetypes, but also pushed themes and plotholes. If a story is character driven with a complex character you really get a different story that can even surprise the writer sometimes.

That’s a great observation! Stories these days focus so much on what sells them that the essence of what makes characters identifiable seems to get lost in a mismatched bag of qualities that are supposed to make them “unique”. Thanks for commenting!

Well... I wrote my main protagonist as being devastatingly betrayed by his best friend, and their conflict fuels his drive to make the final curve of his character arc. Now I'm questioning if his best friend should be redeemed and rise back as his guardian and guide... Thanks for that.
