Congrats on the new Dingy and motor but because the 880 sport is such a shallow draft boat we are going to take our time purchasing a Dingy, you can beach this boat without any issues.. I still can't get over the speed of this boat, we sailed from our condo in Key Largo to Key West right before Christmas, we made the 94 miles trip in 5.8 hours and averaged 16.7 knots and a few times we hit 21.2 knots, even at those wicked speeds the boat is still very stable. We are talking about sailing to the Bahamas in Feb. with this boat, as fast as it is, the time to Bimini should be cut in half.....

For 10$, I bought an electric air mattress pump that you can use a cigarette port or battery terminals for operating. Best purchase I ever made for my dingy because it would take 15 minutes on the foot pump.

Yes make that loop. 10K Islands up to Goodland/Marco Is. then up to Charlotte Harbor and the whole string south from Boca Grande > Cayo Costa > Cabbage Cay > Captiva > Sanibel. All of that cruising area around the West coast is fantastic for a shoal draft trimaran. Then across the waterway is a fun experience too. Great Idea to loop it

Happy New year 2U. You asked for suggestions. Here's mine. 1. Great idea to take the trimaran around the Fl. Key's on a loop. Anywhere the weather is really warm and nice from December -March. 2.Would be cool to see you two sail to the Bahama's on that boat. I bet you would love to do a 3-4 day and return back to Florida. It would cause a bunch of people to buy that type of boat if you simply showed just how it can be done. Most people are just afraid to venture forward.

Great Dinghy and motor. Very easy to lift onto one of the tramps as towing it above 7 knots might get hairy. Yes tour the Florida Coast. Tons of spots to tuck the tri in. Just into Charlotte Harbor, there's a great little nook off of Pelican Bay just south of Cayo Costa State Park (showers!!). We got our F22 in there 18' beam) so you wouldn't have a problem. You can easily roll the dinghy up and store in the cabin while travelling. Ditto with motor (store both forward I think for more tongue weight). I can't tell you how much I despise noseeums. Happy New Year!! Carleen and Jim

You can get an automatic inflator with a pressure gauge. They hook up to the terminals on a battery. That’s what I have for mine since I store the dinghy when not in use. They are about $150 but well worth the investment.

I have a roll up dinghy also. Mine is a Newport Vessels 9'6" with a solid 4 piece piece floor, inflatable keel and rated for up to 10 h.p. I don't have an engine for it yet, but so far, it's been a really good platform for working on the hull of the boat. - S/V Celtic Star

Hi guys. My wife and I did Key West to Dry Tortugas to Everglades Park to Ft Myers to Okeechobee to the ICW in our Gozzard 36 cutter sloop. It was a terrific trip. Okeechobie is like sailing (motoring) through chocolate pudding. You might need to lower your mast to clear the RR bridge on the eastern side (we used the "tilt" service provided by a nice fellow from Indiantown Marina ). Be sure to check that before starting your trip. It's a looooong way back around Miami.

You could always drag the dinghy behind the trimaran on a 100' line. This would work for short passages which you'll be doing while coastal cruising.

I use the Torqeedo 4.0 Cruise on my Corsair F27. Super quiet, clean, and powerful! Have fun cruising!
@Tulasendlesssummer3 жыл бұрын
Is that the main propulsion for your F27 or is it for a dinghy? How do you charge it back up??
@sailfastnow3 жыл бұрын
@@Tulasendlesssummer It is the main propulsion for my F27. It has more thrust than my old Nissan 8HP had. I have a charger on-board that charges my 4 - 12 volt batteries (in series for 48v) using shore power. It yields about 20 miles at 4-5kts. Less of course at faster speeds. If I'm going out for longer periods, I'd use a generator to charge up if there's no marina in sight (but that's extra weight and gas). I'd love to have the Torqeedo 48v battery pack which is lighter, but spendy - spendy :) On another thought... when you get use to the boat's performance - try boarding behind it when its blowing out! That would make a great vid! Happy New Year to you guys!

LOL. We’ve been watching you since you first got Adrenaline. We’re old, old time sailors and I rebuilt a trimaran ‘(69, 36’ Piver), Rebuilding it from the keel up did give me a great knowledge base about what we had and how it worked which was good but, seriously, it wore me out (and yes, I was in my thirties back then). Wow, everything has come such a long, long way since the eighties. Okay, okay enough reminiscing. Being old, retired and less of a man physically than I was back then, I am all for enjoying what we have at a price we can afford. And, I want to make a couple of observations you will likely appreciate. First, know that the inflation of your dingy is better done with a mini shop vac (it will serve multiple purpose too) and it will be wiser than overfilling your dingy with a compressor and reversing it will suck the air out when you want to deflate it - they never fully deflate w/o a little help. As you said space is at an optimum when you are cruising. Second, know that it will not take long before the “newness” of your dingy wears out and it is no longer a “toy”. Look into a “shade” that you can set over the top where you can set up a flexible solar panel (probably a 50watt - and, yes, Torqueedo does offer them. With that, your range is not limited and, if you want or as required, the power is always there. And finally, set yourself some bars on the back of your tri to use the Torqueedo as a back up and even a thruster for docking, Three horse is not a lot but it will keep you out of harms way when things go array as they tend to go. Just a suggestion from an old salt that absolutely loves what your doing. Best of luck to you guys. Bruce Vining

@RaftOne3 жыл бұрын
Don't get a 12v compressor. If you get a small jobsite blower. It is strong enough to get the majority of the air in the dingy then you can top it off as hard as you want with the foot pump. Also, a shop vac works if you have one onboard.

I suppose it isn't practical to beach the 880 every night. one of their selling points is shoal draft with boards up. it would be interesting to learn how often you could have beached the tri and avoided the dinghy. 50%?
