🚨Stopped By The Police In Jakarta 🇮🇩 Java Bike Tour, Episode 1 🚲

Welcome back to Indonesia and to the start of a new adventure. In this video, I catch you guys up on what I've been doing the past few months and my plans from here. We aim to cycle from Jakarta to Bali, or as far as we can at least. If we have to take a train or bus then we will but, our main mode of transportation is going to be on a bike.
Leaving Sukarno Hatta International Airport got off to a little bit of a rough start in that we jumped on the highway and then got stopped by the police. Oops, we got it all straightened out though ✌️

Hi Nick, iam indonesian living in Johor. While cycling across java i suggest you to take the combination of middle route and south coast. You can get some beautiful views like in Bandung, Dieng, Kulon Progo (Jogja), Karanganyar, Malang. Guess your final destination in java will be Jember then Banyuwangi for sure. Keep in mind this country isn't that save compared to Taiwan. You can't leave your bikes and everything away from you. Also putting your phone on the bike isn't recommended as thieves can easily grab it from behind and run away. You have many followers almost in every city in indonesia that you can visit. ..ENJOY THE TRIP..

Hi Nick.. if you are heading to East Java, I suggest that you take South Coast Java road (Jalan Pantai Selatan Jawa in Indonesian), as the traffic is more bike friendly and you'll get beautiful view there..

They are not police, but security guards. They have a resemblance to the police but the difference is the identification marks written on their chests as "satpam" (security)

That's the airport security not the police (car says KAMTIB not POLISI). Local security is more polite than the police/army around here, lucky you. Have a save journey here and welcome to Java. Be nice and respectful and people will welcome you guys. Don't travelling pass 9 PM and avoid uncrowded road especially at night, a chance of "begal" or robbery is high. When you feel sick or tired, try drinking "TOLAK ANGIN", buy it at local stores. Come visit Kabupaten Tangerang if you still around the area. Best of luck!

When you use google map in Indonesia for biking, just use the motorcycle option on your gmap. Indonesia Highway is not allowed for bicycle & motorcycle, so in the future you don't accidentally enter the highway road here in Indonesia.

If u want to travel around with bike in Indonesia using google maps, make sure u setting gmaps with bike. Gmaps will direct you through roads that can be traversed using two-wheeled vehicles. not via toll

Dude, if you and your friend do not get into trouble riding like that, then you guys are extremely lucky. I would strongly advise anyone against riding out of Jakarta airport to anywhere. The traffic is horrendous, the air is polluted, and the climate is hot and humid. You should have done better research before you started. By the way, I rode around Bali and it was one of my most enjoyable rides. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Be safe out there. Do you have antibiotics for food poisoning? Better be prepared.
