I think the format is _sensational._ A perfect balance of humor, brilliantly tasteful editing, great cinematography, and excellent yet succinct analysis of a very interesting subject matter. Really impressed. As for the topic, one philosopher believes we should (eventually) use biotechnology to completely eliminate predation on a global scale. I had frog pond as well. Birds would show up to snatch the little ones as they transformed from taddie to froggie. I defended my frogs. I even protected the teddies from being consumed by the frogs which does happen. I simply created an adult pond. All my frogs repaid my kindness by consuming the bugs which would attack my tomato plants and many others. I spent many hours of sheer enjoyment sitting by my frog ponds.

If you want, you could even dig different sized ponds nearby and see how that affects the species that colonize them. It would be a pretty dope research project to say the least

If David and his crew had intervened, they would’ve gotten killed by the mother protecting her calf. Or they may have killed the mother in self defense. They were right not to intervene. The footage is enough to put more light on the damage those man made businesses were causing. In the scenario with your pond, you found a great solution. But though your pond is real, everything about the set up is artificial and not completely natural. It’s like setting up a terrarium but outside. So with that said, if your goal was to have a frog pond, then remove the lizards. Are you going to have the same discussion with yourself when the plants overgrow and start to take over the open body of water? Nice video man! Phil DeFranco sent me here.

all "this humans are aliens and shouldn't interact with animals" stuff is stupid we are animals ourself.
@dormiaria87804 жыл бұрын
You don't know what the mother Elephant would have done, and neither do I or anyone else. Some Elephants DO see humans as friends, even if they've never had any interactions with them before. A elephant was wounded by poachers, and taken to an elephant sanctuary to recover. Later, once it was released, it came back with a second elephant who was wounded. the second elephant was a stranger to the workers at the sanctuary, but allowed them to treat it's injuries anyway. Eventually some times elephants just....showed up at the Sanctuary when ever they had a problem. They'd communicated with each other that this was a safe area. Depending on rather or not that specific mother elephant or her herd had any positive interactions with humans like they David and his crew might have been able to get close enough to share some of their water supply with the baby elephant. If anything, going on the assumption that this particular herd of elephants would be hostile to their efforts and try to attack them would have been a better reason not to help. Baby sea turtles can't hurt a human. While a emotionally distraught mother elephant defending her dying child most definitely was capable of inflicting some serious pain. Both situations were man made, either from global warming, or the city lights confusing the baby turtles. But helping the baby elephant had a far greater risk of injury than helping baby sea turtles.

Generally speaking it's understood that we shouldn't interfere with nature, especially as mere spectators. In the case of the turtles, David and his crew didn't interfere with nature, but rather directed the turtles toward the path that nature intended. If they hadn't, the turtles would have suffered a way less natural outcome.
@romanski5811 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but isn't that just one big appeal to nature fallacy? I think we should intervene in nature but mainly in terms of reducing wild animal suffering. Obviously we have to be careful and considerate of ecological balances but in principle, humans should reduce wild animal suffering as much as possible in the long run because generally speaking, suffering is bad.
@AlgaeGaming Жыл бұрын
@@romanski5811 IIRC natural fallacy is about saying something is intrinsically good because it's natural. Here the debate is about keeping nature natural, and just about the definition of nature vs culture (man-made), I think all parties already agree that keeping nature natural is good. It's just unclear what pure nature/natural is due to the enormous impact human culture has everywhere. But if you think there's nothing wrong with interfering with nature then you'd be right in calling the other side out for saying something is good just because it's natural. Which isn't the wildest stance to take, I just assumed people didn't here.
@CrustedPork10 ай бұрын
Humans aren't part of nature now I guess. We aren't ALSO animals apparently...Just because it's "man made" doesn't mean we are no longer animals lol. We ARE part of nature as well. So if they got ran over by cars, it's still very much natural part of nature.
