Store bought & homemade ART SUPPLIES

Hello Friends and welcome back to my weekly art vlog.
I have some new art supplies to share with you. Some art supplies are homemade and the other art supplies I bought with my voucher I recieved from my family for Christmas. If you are a regular viewer you know how I like to amke my own art supplies. Besides being really fun to make your own art supplies it is also very economical. Particularly so with encaustic wax medium for chreating encaustic paintings and artwork. I mentioned late last year I wanted to get back into encaustic painting so I bought some ready made encaustic medium to trial and compare it to my homemade ecaustic wax medium. I will make a full vlog on how I make my own encaustic wax medium very soon.
We finish todays art vlog with a watercolour painting session, hint of some of the art supplies I bought ; D

I’m here melting with you! I thought I was going to faint in the heat here today! I was looking at those moulds and thinking that they might be good for oil sticks and then you mentioned you made them! I need to google this because I would like to try them but cringe at the price! A big yes please to the video on making encaustic sticks etc too!

It must be so hot in Sydney! Check out my vlog called “ make your own oil sticks” lots of good info in the comments on that one as well. Will definitely make a vlog on encaustic medium. I love it as a medium. Mixing them as you saw this week was a test to trial colouring with oil paint so as soon as I’ve finished testing I’ll share everything 😉🩵🌸

I have used oil paint as well as pigments for colored encaustics. I have found them both really good! I make them really pigmented, and if I need a paler version when I paint, I just melt some on my griddle and add white to it…

Thanks! I’ve only used powdered pigment before and had heard oil paint was ok but no more than 10% Great to hear its stable and can be made quite pigmented 🎉😊
