I’m with Scotty. I like glass the best for long term storage. I use old glass peanut butter jars. (big ones, in Canada 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds) Why buy new, just clean well and I’m good to go. One ounce per jar. Then I store in my basement in a cupboard where it never reaches 70F. Why I would not use plastic for long term storage. My younger brother worked at a soda pop bottling plant. He told me one of the reasons pop is freshness dated is because CO2 will actually leak out through the plastic molecules in the plastic bottle over time. If you take a plastic bottle of pop and never open it and put it somewhere for a few years it will go soft. I just would not blindly trust plastics when glass is so readily available. (Everybody tosses old jars, all kinds of foods still come in glass jars. Instead of tossing them…)

I reuse 32oz protein drink containers for storing/curing bulk. 2.50z fits nicely with about 2.5in left from the top of container with humidpack. I use freezer bags for trim and buds I will use for bubble hash. Mason jars for my better looking buds. I have used fruit to hydrate. Orange peel or a slice of apple. With the plastic containers/jars I tumble slowly then open once a day. I keep all of that in gray totes. Totes are really handy, easy to label, easy to separate different strains/plants. I have close to a pound hanging in a 3 X 3 grow tent that is a couple of days away from trim.

Most sandwich/ziplock bags have pumice stone mixed into the plastic, it makes the plastic porous and breathable. Oven bags are the go. They have no pumice stone in them and are made to hold moisture (steam).

Farmers are kind of the ultimate gamblers if you think about it. Even for somebody with a small tent, that is so much of your time you have already invested in growing it to the point of drying it. I have started relying on turkey bag storage anytime there is threat of too much moisture collection. They let enough transfer of whatever Airgas oxygen. I don’t know what the fuck. They’re good man.

Always sanitize your mason or glass jars, there is usually leftover crap in there from manufacturing and packaging. Salsa, sauce and pickle makers know this well as the leftover chemicals can ruin a ferment or canned item if you don't clean the jar.

And making organic lotions with your thc oils. Will mold much faster in clear containers when it gets warmed and cooled. Left a clear Mason out for a few days, the lotion turned black lmao.
