紅糟是客家菜的調味料, 天然紅色, 微酸與酒香. It's a kind of distiller's grins (wine lees) left the red yeast rice wine is squeezed out and sieved during the brewing process of red yeast rice with red yeast rice as the main raw materials.

About more than 50 years ago, in the countryside of Taiwan, the woman washed clothes in the upperstream of the river while children played in the water downstream. That was my childhood memory. Rice in eastern Taiwan is very famous because there is no pollution in eastern Taiwan.

Another beautiful vlog, well done guys!!! Love the intros of each stops and stories behind some of the places. 👍👍👍👏👈👈 The pork in the bento you had was braised in rice fermented with red yeast first, if I'm not mistaken. Back in the days this dish was cooked in vinasse from making red rice wine. I cant' wait for the next vlog to drop!!

Thanks so much for your recommendation on both the Chishang and Guanshan bike paths. You both are awesome and so natural on camera. :) I'm currently trying to decide which area to chose as I prefer less people yet I've read that there is more to do in Chishang vs Guanshan like the Barn Art Museum & the Rice Museum. And you guys made the fried ice cream look so delicious! Did you by chance get to visit either of these places? Also, did you stay in Taitung and do day trips to Chishang and Guanshan?

The rice boxes from Chisang is well-known in Taiwan because the quality of the rice in Chisang is the Rolls-Royce of rice in Taiwan. Most of the rice paddy in Taiwan has been contaminated by the waste water discharged from industrial factories but there's few factories in these areas. Many visitors to Chisang like to ride tandem bicycles along the boulevard but it can be difficult for a schlemeil. Taiwan's East Rift Valley spead about 200 kilometers from Hualian city to Taidong city. Shortly before ww2 the Japanese authorities established many immigrant villages there and relocated many farmers from Japan to these areas to reclaim the land there but immediately after ww2 those farmers were forced to leave Taiwan.😢

There's nothing better than being able to bicycle in beautiful countryside. It fills my heart! We are taking time off work, living off savings, and using the bit of money we make from KZbin to fund more adventures! (KZbin is a full time job for us, and hopefully we continue to improve and grow!)

Bill was right because he said it won't be raining while you were still deliberating whether to move towards the direction of the "rain clouds". I also had such worries when I'm doing trails esp when I see darkening skies, but pressed on and say what the heck, I had to do it because I prob won't get another chance to come back, since I'm a tourist, not a local. And it matters most that it didn't rain when you were cycling and enjoying the views upon and after that destination. It only started to trickle after you were done with Mr Brown Road and prob ready for a gd hot meal somewhere covered. It didn't spoil the enjoyment. Am I right on that?
