@@DanielVanDyck thanks for the reply! I am currently reading a book you may find interesting. It's called 'Rise of Babylon'. It's fascinating as it tells the story of how Saddam truly believed he was the new nebbucanezzar. He was pumping massive amounts of money into redeceloping and rebuilding lots of ancient babylon. There are different schools of thought on why he was doing this. The concept of Babylon to some means much more than just the name of the old city. Have you ever heard of this?

@danielkhan4722 whoa no that's so interesting. I'm looking at the book now, seems like it's a book predicting the end of the world haha? That sounds... Curious. The part about Saddam and Babylon seems very interesting. I haven't heard of any of this, but I visited the ruins of Ancient Babylon. Also visited a palace Saddam built overlooking the ruins which if he sees himself as a reborn Babylon leader, kinda tracks

@DanielVanDyck essentially that's what some believe, I am not sure I believe that buts it's a juicy element of the story. It was wild how he rebuilt numerous ziggarats for no benefit. Also some believe Babylon refers to the idea of modern cities with life's of sin and iniquity. Hence to live like Babylon. Some would also say that this way is not the way of gods teaching so not in line with Islam, Christianity or Judaism. Which adds more interesting notes to Saddam rebuildinging it. It's interesting stuff. May I ask why you decided to travel there? I have always wanted to explore rhat part of the world and to understand the ancient history which is part of the reason I am reading that book. I am very interested in the Sumerianss and the older cultures thay inhabited mesopotamia! Did you learn anything of these cultures. What was your fav part of your trip? Thanks for chatting!
