Dear capt Kerry, I started as a flight instructor on pistons (pa 30 and 44), followed by jigs in corporate with 4 years on b200 and 4 years on cj2+. Followed by EMB 170/190(4 years) and an a320 (4.5 years) now. But I want to be a ferry pilot and I would love to fly a cessna caravan for 18 hrs. My ultimate career goal I have been reading your book and it's just beautiful. My best achievement was landing a cj2+ with a 35 knot xwind during a ferry with a bunch of ferry pilots. Edit 2: the amped up feeling is not what many understand

I take it attendance was way down this year due to the pandemic. The audience with only 5 spectators. I'm glad we can at least see it on video even if nobody could see it in person. This guy is a great storyteller.

Kerry, I'm 22 minutes in, half way, and I like you. You're on stage getting people to think about what to do in an emergency. And they are there to hear from someone who took risky flights exactly because most people won't take huge risks but they can relate. You will sit in the wetsuit for the whole flight, you're being careful while taking a risk. Exciting but careful, but still risky :-) And you're on stage up there, the brave guy, and you're saying that you have your survival kits for Canada, African deserts, oceans etc. You have a raft, beacon, laser, radio, little GPS, etc. That helps the regular guy feel better about buying all the safety gear, because it's what Kerry the risk taking survivor guy does. Wishing you blue skies and adventures.

She probably heard all those stories already anyway, I'm gonna be like Kerry flying with my daughter someday, *double guns baby* cutest ever. I'm a commercial fisherman up here in Alaska. Kerry would have been a good fisherman with his sense of adventure and calm when it's hitting the fan, it's dangerous and we might not come home, go watch deadliest catch I worked on the Cape Caution last year. 🌊🤪

@@brandonjerue1205 yeah of course she did...hehehehemany times which one of them... Well that's a great plan man...go for it... Yeah most pilots I know resemble him in something, even myself, I'm not very different from Kerry...Hope I'll be ferrying planes sooner once I've got my PPL and CPL...oh I've been to Alaska man...what a nice and beautiful place to live, if you like and can cope with cold weather and rain, gray skies...my favourite place is Skagway...

I noticed that you said you had an HF radio installed, what did you use for an HF antenna? An HF antenna requires a antenna tuner and a reasonably large length antenna.

@@Google_Does_Evil_Now I didn't say the content is bad, wrong or useless, I just said he's cocky. If you watch the series (I can't remember the name) in which he delivers planes as a crew of two pilots, you can see that his cocky attitude is annoying and dangerous, that's why I don't like him. I would never fly with him. Even the way he walks is cocky.

I read his book and was really disappointed in his decision making, one poor decision after another that he seems to take pride in. He needs to stay a ferry pilot and never fly people he will put at risk.

I see that but I guess the one difference is that he is putting himself and only himself at risk. Yea there is property involved but as far as dying he is the only one at risk. Not an excuse but I mean what can you do. The job does need to be done and if it ain't him it will be the next one. One of those things.

@@stowjoker342 Only counter I'd have for that is he might endanger others if he ends up in a rescue situation - I agree someone's got to do the job! With all the inherent risk I was just expecting the pilot to be a bit less gung ho but easy for me to day from my armchair :D
@Mr_Bones.

I don’t know about your decision making when you comment that pilot who’s been ferrying for over thirty years doesn’t know what he’s doing. Most of the mistakes were made in his youth, in the early 90’s, when you had to use dead reckoning to find your way anywhere beyond VOR range. Modern day pilots criticize without realizing this dude is a pioneer and was flying planes over the Atlantic with nothing but a compass and hope. I would trust him to fly a 747 to Siberia because he’s actually done it before in a Skyhawk and clearly knows weather/performance/risk management. Everyone knows “there are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but not both”. Kerry is an old pilot that learned to overcome the boldness phase.
