That’s great, another book from Kerry! I’m all in. His first book, Ferry Pilot, easily could have been titled the same as the new book. Great show Dan & Christy.👍🏽

That wasn't cardboard but thick gasket paper - the same stuff the original gasket was made of.

I'm a student pilot, and my current career is a crane operator. When things go wrong I often joke I'm running partial panel. The mechanics don't get it. Can't wait to use RBL.

That isn't cardboard, that is a sheet of gasket material.

What's a "carboard"? Some kind of board for your car? 😁
@publicmail22 жыл бұрын
No it's for your engine, the car board. If he used gasket maker the title would've been, elmers glu for engine leak.

I've used card for temporary gaskets, works better for oil than coolant 😉👍😲🙄😄 I've had a few minor failures, known others who've had worse, but at least they're few and far between and the aeroplane is known, but this guy? He's a glutton for punishment 🤔😲😄🙄😄 But he has boundaries. I've an ex RAF mechanic friend, he still travels etc, buy there are certain airlines he won't fly with in certain countries "they're maintenance teams are cr@p and their maintenance regimes are cr@p - I'd rather wait and stay on the ground wishing I was in the air, than being in the air wishing that I was on the ground!". I thought he was exaggerating but I should have known better. In addition he was right about Boeing too (proven right - after the pre-pandemic exposés)😲😲😲

I don't think that was cardboard, looks like universal gasket sheet....a sheet of gasket material to make a gasket you don't have. It's definitely not as good at the correct gasket, but easily will do the trick in a pinch. Calling it cardboard is definitely glamorizing for tv. Don't get me wrong, this guy is a legit bad ass pilot, but let's not over exaggerate that far. Cardboard is corrugated...that was not.

what is carboard?

The ferry pilots I know live boring lives by comparison to Kerry. They refuse to fly and deliver junk aircraft.

A valve cover is no big deal, there is no pressure in there, so anything will do,, usual tv hype,,, yawn 😴
