Refugees and displaced individuals are more than survivors or beneficiaries - they're innovators, creators, and leaders, ready to make meaningful contributions when provided the chance/opportunity.
We're thrilled to present a video series of powerful stories as part of this year’s Migration Summit. They feature four remarkable individuals from South Sudan and Congo, currently in Kakuma Camp and Nairobi. Their stories have shown extraordinary determination in developing their skills, launching impactful projects, and overcoming significant challenges.
We invite everyone, particularly employers, to engage with these stories in order to gain a deeper insight into the unique strengths and perspectives these talents offer, and how they can meaningfully contribute to your team.
The aim of this series is to highlight the untapped talent within refugee communities - a talent that extends beyond personal growth to creating opportunities for others. From entrepreneurship to technical expertise, these journeys showcase the diverse and adaptable skill sets that can enrich any professional environment.
We are honoured to introduce Susan Achiech’s story, a creative from South Sudan, founder of Tech-Femme Algorithms, full stack developer, and Project Manager at Digital Lions - Fair Trade Agency in Kakuma Camp. Susan’s inspiring journey, fueled by continuous learning and mentorship with the support of programs and training like the ones organized by Na’amal, is a testament to the impact of dedication and the right support. Susan is a hardworking person, determined and also goal-oriented. Working on different projects, Susan continues to value the importance of teamwork and learning through the process.
▶️ Watch Susan’s full interview to learn more about her journey and the wisdom she shares with aspiring professionals.
🎥 These videos were produced by creatives from the community.
We warmly invite more talent to join our collection of portraits and share your experience, advice, and stories with our community! Check the Portraits of Talent Gallery Wall here: migrationsummi...
