Do you fear the unknown? Are you intrigued by it? Because being so emotionally invested in dead worlds, explaining to us what we perceive so that we understand what we are actually looking at... Liminal space is not doing it justice. This is bigger, intangible. Slave Knight Gael's death really did feel like the end of ends. The last struggle in the crumbling remanence of a world that once was, rewarding us with... emptiness. What lies beyond the mountains of sand, beyond the horizon? GLaDOS' goodbye to us, sending us into a voyage we'll never see. As if the character stopped telling. And we, the player, stopped receiving. Like we're too far apart to communicate. My House slowly driving the character mad, a place unknown, unimaginable, inconceivable, unpredictable and yet so familiar. There are things that I want to explore. The unknown is a big part of it. And it's not just in stories or games, but anywhere else in our world, too. Are ghosts real? Where, when and why did folklore begin? What hides in the darkest oceans? Do aliens really exist? If I ever explored further than any human being, I would start documenting what I find until... you all would stop finding what I documented. That's why I fear the unknown. I don't know if it'll be the end of me. And yet I want to find out more about it. The unknown calls to me. Like that robot, he wanted to see what's on the bottom. But unlike the robot, I want to tell about it, to show it to you all. Intrigued as I am, I am unable to find what's not been found already. I have neither tool nor knowledge to begin. That's why I enjoy stories the unknown, as scary as it is.
