I don't know why I love this woman so much.... since from the days of 3rd rock, but I still do.

I was lucky enough to meet her when she came to Perris California to make a tandem skydive. Yes she has guts and in more ways than one. She's one hell of a woman.

Really is nice to hear someone speak from their heart when you know they're telling the truth it's so hard to be truthful in the world where people judge you by what you do not who you are. Kristen Johnston you give me a hope.

Johnston was awesome on '3rd Rock.' I can still hear her character's big voice and laugh in my head. John Lithgow, too. THAT was a while back. Anyway. You can't get better if you keep things to yourself when you have serious issues mentally. It's not just drugs. It's mental illness, too. That's why they have groups. You don't do groups. You don't get better. If you can afford a great therapist. That works, too. But. You have to express ALL the time. And if you get into like flights of fancy and points of view, you'll find your way back to where you were. The goal is to seek something objective in terms of who you are, which is why a lot of groups have a prayer aspect. You seek something higher or highest. You know? Athletes have the Olympics or World Championships. It's real. There's a trophy. People all agree WHO won. If you're sane, it's kinda that feeling too, IF you were crazy for a long time or not. I was cutting back on booze, when I saw the Affleck interview with Diane Sawyer. And how he spoke, with that raw emotion in his eyes, about how he never imagined he would be an addict like some of his family members. I have a grandmother, who had a huge vat of booze in the kitchen with this medicinally prepared raccoon in it. I would laugh when I was told. But. I realized. The last laugh could be on ME. People, who talk about their addiction and recovery, are doing really cool stuff.

While I agree that there is a worthy debate over whether the "disease model" of addiction is the truth, there is one idea that cannot be argued with: you cannot take something to become happy. Happiness springs from ideas and accomplishments. So, if you want to really feel good, with no debilitating after effects or treadmills of repetition, you have to take on great ideas and execute great plans, and have great accomplishments. To do that, start by building your life on The Solid Rock. When you do that, everything becomes possible.

@@moniquemurphy4851 As actors and everyday people, we explore a lot of emotional places, and we put ourselves out there, and it is so insidiously easy to say, "well, I'll just have a little of this or a little of that to help me," and that is where we start to cross out of our lane and into oncoming traffic. All of the ads we see show that two or three minutes of giddy smiling happiness, and none of the ads show what you feel like the next morning. When we look past the half truths and the smiles, we start to see that the wizard is someone behind the curtain pretending that the product is worthy of our time. There is no truth in that bottle,. that bag, that glass.

Kristen’s tragedy wasn’t that she was addicted to alcohol and opiates, it was that she put career before motherhood. To other beautiful and talented women, don’t leave your choice too late…….
