Stories That Imprison Our Heart - Part 1 with Tara Brach (06/14/2017)
Our suffering arises from fear-based stories that are often outside our awareness. These include stories of our deficiency or importance, of being a victim, of being unseen or unloved, of facing failure or rejection. This is true collectively too. We have shared stories of bad “others” that fuel wars, shared stories of the value of continued growth in consumption and production that destroy our earth, shared stories of our human right to enslave and violate other animals. We have the capacity to bring the stories that separate and imprison us into the light of awareness, and with great compassion, loosen their grip. These two talks look at the ways fear-based stories create suffering, and how awakening from them reveals the freedom of our true, and universal, belonging.

been recognizing my own stories now recently. even being a woman there are so many stories ingrained in us....of fear... etc like just stepping out going out of our house we are subject to gawking, jeers, whistles and more dangerous abductors etc.

What a great speaker you are, Ms B. And oof. The animals piece. I've always known that and had a vague discomfort, but it hasn't hit me in that way

I love your work Tara and I see what your saying with farming animals. I live on a beautiful property and have beef cows and horses that I use for breeding and training. When u speak of human evolution please consider that we would have not evolved as we did without the use of hunting animals such as dogs and horses. And even though mine are fenced in they live good lives and I think there is a lot of judgement of new style greenies that have nothing to do with farming life that just judge us as old-school. When in fact is there was some kind of disaster and everyone needed to go back to basics like using horses for transport, all you guys would be my best friend causing walking to whevesr would take too long, a better acceptance of my scenario and a better understanding and less judgement in this area would be good. But I still don't know exactly where I stand with it, I still understand what ur saying. Keep up ur good work. I donated recently, your helping people all round the world. Love the angry farmer !!!
