Bertus you are amazing with your wood work and metal work. Is there nothing you and Isis can not do. What an amazing team. Your new wood work place looks so nice and cosy and I love how you and Isis have fixed the other wooden door and the colour you chose. Velluto is starting to trust you and getting used to you. Talk to him while he eats, he is beautiful. Another lovely video and can not wait for next week to see you make elderflower cordial. Have a lovely week.

There is SO much to "thank you" for in this video. First putting the names of the wildflowers up makes this very special. I giggled when you found the lottery scratch ticket and asked: “Are you feeling friskies?” Friskies here in the US is a popular brand of cat food. Frisky means adventurous/amorous. I would say you are both very frisky and bold to take on such a wonderful & empowering (as well as inspiring) project. Thanks for sharing your frisky-bold journey with us!

Yet another beautiful video. This one with more sounds from nature’s soundtrack, the thunderstorm, heavy rain and my favourite the amazing birdsong. What more could a person need to feed their soul. The doors were their own little pieces of art, so lovingly restored a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. How lovely to be able to pick your very own mother natures bouquet. On a more concerned note, should you not be using a mask and eye protection when cleaning the rust off of any metal work? Pretty sure it’s not the sort of rubbish and dust that will do you any good! ❤

For a rusty hardware look, do a faux finish: paint with black anti-rust paint and then lightly spray or daub a rusty brown paint over it.

What a wonderful collection of old materials and equipment you have there, repurposing the iron tubes from the cow mangers and the scaffold boards to make racking was genius. Far, far better than the flimsy angle iron supports with MDF shelves sold in DIY stores. Did you find the metal pipe brackets on the premises? Your store of wood is to die for. And the old workbench with vice you dusted off is perfect for the workshop.
@storiesfromthecascina7 ай бұрын
That shelving unit is definitely so much more sturdy than antything sold in regular DIY stores :-P We reused the brackets/connectors from the old manger system. I've tried to find similar ones online but they don't seem to be very common anymore. The modern version seems to be with a closed "loop" so you have to slide them over the tube, while the ones we have a a two-piece system. This is the best likeness I could find: shop.multitube.com/en/es-1c-sv-joint-set-t-piece-900-open/a6096

Angle grinder..... with safety guard removed...... with bare hands and a t-shirt. Is someone looking to acquire new battle scars? The discs can sometimes fail, and disintegrate. The item being cut can also jam the blade shattering it as the gap closes a little due to heat distortion or as part begins to weaken and be pulled down. Over the years i have had dozens fail, sections stuck in my face shield, others slicing into the heavy welding gloves i generally wear. It may look silly, but the sheer speed of that blade = a lot of energy. :)
