Storing Gun Magazines

you have to compare the same make mags, I know my Russian mags have a shorter spring then my Chinese both are steel AKM mags and are almost brand new never stored loaded.

Leaving a magazine loaded leaves the spring compressed, will cause no problems at all springs don't wear from compression they wear from repeated compression and decompression. Holding a spring compressed will not harm it in any way. You are comparing 2 different magazines which have two different springs.
