This may well be my new way of storage, I actually place them side by side on a dresser. And your right the way shops store then by folding them in completely freaks me, I try to keep the round shape as best I can. Nice one again Doug

Some people might not know how important this video actually is!
@dreinthe6164 жыл бұрын
Right on, thanks - yes, if you put in the work to shape and get the cap where you want it, there's no reason to fold it up again for storage!
@henryburvee30282 жыл бұрын
Great video! Quick question tho, would you recommend putting a flat brim hat on the bottom of the stack? I’m worried the pressure of the hats will kinda crush the bottom one. Thanks again!
@dreinthe6162 жыл бұрын
I usually don't but it's not a bad idea. That's usually why I only go 5 or 6 high max, because it does tend to flatten the visor on the bottom cap - but if I grab that one for the day I just give it a quick refresh on the curve (by hand). Thanks!

Hi Doug! Great video! I was curious about the cap you’re wearing in this video. Which team is it for? Thank you!
@dreinthe6165 жыл бұрын
That is an NBA Fitted - Milwaukee Bucks, part of the "NBA Alpha" Collection from New Era - one of my favorite collections, I did a review at kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX-vaoBoa9N3b7s - thanks!

I wish I saw this sooner, but I will keep in mind in the future!! Unfortunately I have a large collection that are all folded. I haven't had the chance to wear many of them. Do you think that they will be wearable eventually or that they will need to be steamed? I appreciate the video and hope I get a response. -Pete
@dreinthe616 Жыл бұрын
Yes, if you wear them enough it will start to blend out a bit, but steaming will get rid of the folds a lot quicker, thanks.
@JonDeLeon4 жыл бұрын
Hi ....how would you store them away from humidity, dust and mildew for long period of time. Like 2-3 years
@dreinthe6164 жыл бұрын
Hmm, well I'd say get a large plastic container with a good seal on the lid. Rubbermaid makes some good ones that I have seen. Thanks

You mentioned we shaping the sweat band every once in a while. How do you do that? Just simply wearing them and perspiring in them?
@dreinthe616 Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's close to what I was saying... sometimes I do put them on the hat jack that I've customized with my head shape, and I'll steam quickly to refresh. But most of the time just putting them on and wearing them for a bit will get them back into shape from this storage method.
@matthoffman6962Ай бұрын
Serious but stupid question. When you have a hat that you love but wear it and gets dirty. Are you cleaning it before storing? What about hats you wear for a day or two you just put it back in the storage box?
@dreinthe616Ай бұрын
Yes, usually clean before storing again, just so you're not sharing with the other caps... I always let it dry out, and if I happened to sweat a lot I'll give at least the sweatband a wipe down. But I rotate collections between shelves and a plastic bin - the shelves are where I keep my frequent wear caps for the season, and the box is for storing months at a time.
@jonathanhuie80473 жыл бұрын
From your experience have you noticed the back panels of the hat lose its shape/get flimsy with multiple hats on top of the back panels?
@dreinthe6163 жыл бұрын
Not any more than they ordinarily would... the great thing is they fill right back in when you wear the cap. But I do notice the caps on the bottom of the stack start to lose the curve in the visor, and that's why I only go 5 or 6 high and circulate frequently by wearing them, thanks.

Is the Bucks cap you are wearing a limited edition? I cant find one.
@dreinthe6164 жыл бұрын
Yes, that was the NBA Alpha series from a couple of years ago... just taking the first letter off the jersey and putting it on to a Fitted, I still have a review for that collection on my channel, but it's been a while since I've seen one available.
@ethansancti28644 жыл бұрын
dre in the 616 I don't like green caps but that one is really nice. Simple and the green tone is not loud. I hope they would re-issue the same soon.

it doeesnt get wrinkled storing them that way?
@dreinthe6165 жыл бұрын
No wrinkling, the only thing that happens is the visors on the bottom caps flatten out a bit... but that's why I only stack them 5 or 6 high.
@t100base5 жыл бұрын
@dre nice! great channel
@andrewl.correa71412 жыл бұрын
You still store your hats like this?
@dreinthe6162 жыл бұрын
Yes, still do - as mentioned during the video, I put in the effort to shape the crown, sweatband profile and the visor - and this storage method preserves those areas for the most part. There are some tradeoffs, but I've found this is the best way for my caps, thanks.
@Bravesfitted9 ай бұрын
Is this still how you are storing your hats?
@dreinthe6169 ай бұрын
Yes, whether on shelves or in a large plastic bin, I usually go 6-7 high. A little bit of a tradeoff because you can get some "denting" above the sweatband, but I personally prefer that to the crease you get from folding the cap inside itself.
@Bravesfitted9 ай бұрын
@@dreinthe616 me too! I stack mine as well, but I was looking for an alternative because of the denting. But I definitely don’t want to fold the hats back in half and get the crease. I’ll prob just stick with what I’m doing for now
