I appreciate the “this ball would work best for ” aspect of these videos. I’ve been deciding between a Magic Gem and Absolute Power and your comments about tilt in both have made my decision! Also, shoutout to Weston Lanes in Wausau!

Pride dynasty looked nasty here. BTW what makes a ball "slow reacting" like you described the mindset?
@Jackal_Blitz7 ай бұрын
It's usually just increased cover strength, which means more energy expenditure going down the lane, which means less energy to fight the forward momentum and turn sideways. If you look at any brand's medium/high solid asyms, they're all going to be pretty slow, chuggy tanks. Some cores also wind up in different parts of the lane (RG), so a higher RG can push the reaction further down the lane, making the cover have to do even more work to get traction, slow the ball down, and let the core turn it over. There's no one clean answer, but those are the usual suspects.
@bowlersparadise22557 ай бұрын
Slow reaction can be caused in a few different ways, but its most commonly due to cover strength. If the ball digs into the lane at the arrows, it just blends out it's rotational energy (hook) way more than balls that glide through oil. Other contributing factors can include but aren't limited too... - An RG above 2.53 - A Differential above .052 - An intermediate diff above .016

I havent been a huge fan of the Absolute or Absolute Power reaction, i think the cover strength doesnt quite match up well enough with the core in my mind. Im curious to see when my Absolute Pearl with the pearl version of the DNA cover gets here this week. On another note, the Pride Dynasty looked really good and i think is a little underrated for how good it is.

not impressed by this ball or the harsh reality. feel like the original absolute stunk to begin with and the harsh reality hasn't seemed to roll well for any reviewers ive watched

Great review.... Funny enough I actually loved the original Absolute and it has been one of the best balls for me (once I took off the reactagloss). I was debating picking up the Power to try just because I liked the original a lot but the One Encroe had me very intrigued as well as a big core asym form a not so popular brand. I am actually glad you mentioned it in this video but I was curious if you had a little more insight about how you felt they stacked up vs each other? Did you favor throwing one over the other on a THS?
@bowlersparadise22557 ай бұрын
So I really like the one encore, and I like them both on house, but for different reasons. Encore gives me a great hook-set-roll kind of motion off the spot, and the Power is smooth and boomy. If you liked the original absolute, I think you’ll really like either one to go with it, but the Encore will overlap with it more than the Power.

I haven't thrown my Absolute Power much but I cant wait for it to lane shine. 😅

I think it will only get better with age. The Code X did, and this one isn't far from that one at all.

Thoughts for a lower rev (250-275) and lower speed (14-15 off the hand)? Really like your reviews!
@bowlersparadise22557 ай бұрын
It’s tough to say honestly. I think of all the huge asyms like this, this one has the best chance of you liking it, but there’s so much torque that it might be a struggle to carry. However, if your struggle is to get the ball up to the pocket consistently, this one may be worth a shot.
@rickerickson97237 ай бұрын
@@bowlersparadise2255 Thank you for your honest feedback. I have the same questions / concerns you raise. If you have any recommendations (preferably Storm umbrella) to add to VEBO, Summit Peak, and Journey. Getting back into bowling after 25 years off. 210 Average (house shot) if that helps.

I am looking for a heavy oil ball that pairs well to then Phaze II and IQ Ruby for a 3 ball arsenal. Would this ball fit nicely?

I throw very similar to you, i have an eternity pi and it struggles to Get back on fresh house conditions. Do you think this would be a good replacement ?
@bowlersparadise22557 ай бұрын
The short answer is yes. But the long answer is I would try some surface adjustments on the Pi first. Take it to a Pro Shop and have them spin it up to 5000 grit or maybe even polish it. You might find something you like simply by changing the cover finish. If that doesn't work, then I would try the Absolute Power.

If you like the UFO, Absolute Power. If you don't like it, something else. If you're not terribly experienced, I don't think the Summit Peak is a good choice.

I have been bowling 2-3 times a week for a few months I’m about a 150 average but I’m getting better. I’m just looking to add a nice ball to complement what I have. I go back and forth between a wrist positioned and without to work on my hooking ability
