One big mistake in this movies is that he calls a tornado a category 4. Categories are used to measure hurricane wind speed, not tornadoes. To measure wind speed in tornadoes, the Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF) Scale is used. So the tornado would be an EF4, not a category 4.

So, I have a question for all who have commented that weather can be manipulated by humans: If there are devices or processes available to modify weather or climate, why have they not used it to produce much needed precipitation in the Western US, as well as other drought stricken areas of the world? Or, are the Chinese purposely causing this so they can purchase land cheaply from farmers/ranchers in the West who are being bankrupted by this drought? Just a thought to consider.

Dont seek refuge under an overpass. What could happen is being buffeted by a wind tunnel effect!! “Even though studies didn't find a wind tunnel effect, sheltering under an overpass during a tornado may still be dangerous, the researchers added in a journal news release. Wind may not decelerate, depending on the location, and flying debris may reach areas of the overpass that only appear to be protected from the wind.”

Back then it was actually the recommendation. The wind tunnel theory came later on, and in the 80's and 90's it was advised to seek refuge under an overpass. Things have changed a lot since this came out🙂

One major problem...DO NOT GET UNDER A FREEWAY PASS IN A TORNADO! This used to be thought the safest place, but current technology proves that it creates a wind tunnel under the passes and is one of the worst places you can be. Get down in a ditch, or a closet, or bathtub with a mattress over you if there is no shelter or basement. Current storm chasers will tell you this is the best way to survive.

The plane was a kit-built single-engine high wing design with greater useable internal volume than many Cessna utility models. It was an interesting design that was like the Cessna 206 Stationair but had a higher useable internal load. Neat huh?

You are aware that the F scale was solely based off of the damage of a tornado right? If a tornado does the damage shown here, it's an F5. The last tornadoes were defined as F4 or possibly F5, not an absolute F5. Also, in the final outbreak, they did use some real tornado footage and some were in that category. The only way to spot an F5 from an F4 is if the tornado is an absolutely massive wedge. The F scale solely base the rating off of damage, not size or wind. That's part of why the EF scale was implemented. There has been tornadoes which left a path over a mile wide that has been classified as F0. That was because they did not do any damage and only appeared on Doppler as they were in the middle of nowhere.

A made for tv movie, complete with really cheesy music. The actors are pretty good however, for the most part, and do enough of a good job, to get you at least halfway through watching this film. There is nothing in this film really to hold onto in the end, other than to waste some time to watch it. Younger people may really like this film, and some older ones as well, but I've seen so many movies over the decades, that for me at least, I would not give this more than 2 stars. IMO

Tornados scare the hell out of me!!!! I've been in a couple, but thankfully I learned exactly what to do in order to survive. Oh yeah and by the way, Dallas is way overdue to get another tornado just like the one back in the year 1957 it tore up buildings and hurt and killed quite a few people. The developers need to understand that all of the tall buildings in downtown Dallas are a danger, so they really need to stop building them, otherwise, when a tornado does hit here, those buildings won't protect people.

Dallas is like Atlanta though. They have their own weather phenomena that are different from the empty area around them. There is so much concrete in those cities (and others) that the weather patterns change when they hit the cities
