Your coverage and the way U approach the critic of these bowling balls is very professional. I feel secure with your reviews. U make no excuses for any outcome on your reviews. Really appreciate all your efforts in giving us regular once, twice and sometimes a tournament bowling guys a honest outlook of these bowling balls.

I concur......watched a guy throwing about 16mph with a higher rev rate use one these and he was absolutely killing it.

Good video, appreciate the honesty. I own a Storm Proton Physix and if I got this Parallax Effect ball, it would be a backup to it. Possibly a fallback option if the Physix hooks too much.

Watched the VIP affliction video just before seeing this video. Before you mentioned it you could see the deflection through the pins v. The VIP.

Just a few thoughts after watching the shots, based on the layout you put on the ball, it seems to like tighter angles of the line on a fresh pattern which is obvious to me when I see the difference between the laydown point and the target being 3 boards. However, the difference of 4 or 5 boards between laydown point and target seems to give you an over under reaction on the fresh pattern which leads me to say that this ball with the current layout and the surface of the ball will give you results on a used/beat up pattern as you could see that when your angles were tight and the ball hit the friction the ball just flew through the pins nicely. Given this scenario the friction on a used/beat up pattern would be relatively more compared to the fresh pattern and your angle of 4 or 5 boards between laydown point and target would work nicely. Try to come more at the back of the ball with tighter angles on fresh pattern and more around the ball on beat up/used pattern to utilize the friction on the lane to your advantage. As you rightfully said, you either slow down the speed of your delivery or change the surface to may be 1500 to 2000 may help change the reaction of the ball on the fresh as well as used/beat up pattern. Overall great review, keep it coming thanks for putting in time and explaining your thoughts. Much appreciated

First off I have watched and enjoyed all your videos. Good content to compare equipment. You matched up really well with the original Paralax. Why not put the same layout on the Effect and see the difference in the two balls. And the fact that the layout on the Paralax worked well for you. Also liked the video on the Incite. If the same layout is on all three balls we can see the difference in core and cover.

Incite and this are identical In terms of layout. I wanted to try a little longer, more aggressive layout, it doesn’t work in this ball, for sure.

Like the review, a few bowlers in my two houses have been killing it with this ball so I've had my eye on it but I'm getting ready to punch up a Obsession Tour that I won at the Hoinke Classic.

Sweet! Heard good things about it. This ball has been hit or miss throughout my leagues. Some people just love it, and some don’t. Staffers included. It’s an interesting piece for sure. I don’t think any storm product in the last couple of years has been this love/hate that I can recall.

@@thefreeagentbowler4383 I agree, the one thing I have noticed is this Parallax needs to definitely match up with the lane conditions or it just won't do the job.

I think of it like a school grade, since some of my closest friends and much of my family are teachers. 70% is barely passing. Doesn’t mean it’s the worst grade, but it could certainly be better. Also I’ve seen a lot of people using it with great success, and so that skews it a little upward too and the fact I know the core is sweet, because of the original Parallax. So, barely passing. Hope that helps.

Love your reviews! Best out there. But before you condemn a ball change surface . Then do a secondary review as I know you're reviews are out of box. Because I almost didn't buy this ball because of your review. But luckily my pro shop guy offered up a 16 for 100$ drilled. I'm a low track player mid revs and speed a bit speed dominant. So I took it to 1200 . A bit much at first not much backend left. But after 3 games of oil and lane break in she became a beast with a great mid lane read and pop on the backend.

Good review as always. Seems this ball behaves very differently for different bowlers. Mine is very, very angular on the back end. 17mph, 400rev approx.

I think layout makes a huge difference in this ball. If I had it to do over, I would have gone pin down with this one, I think. Sometimes balls don’t really change that dramatically with different layouts. Sometimes they really do. And this is that ball.

All types of bowlers right? Some balls work for bowlers, some don't. I typically don't feel like a pearl ball is my best to use (low rev bowler) but damn my highest scores come from a pearl ball. What makes it hard is spending 150-240 dollars on a ball, (149 for a hyroad that doesn't work for me.) Anyhow, I've used your code on Buddies for a few balls, and as usual thanks for the work on the video!

I have this ball and I throw a pretty similar ball. There is no way I'd play that straight of a line with this ball and I think you can see that clearly when you watch where the ball finishes even on your strike shots. I tend to have most success playing out at 15 at the arrows and down around 5 to 8 at the breakpoint. That way the ball tends to finish between 8 and 9 rather than blowing past the 9 and over hooking. I will second that throttling down my speed just a hair seems to give this ball what it wants for best pin reaction.

This one was really touchy for me, which is why I don’t have it anymore. I may have given up too soon on it. But, it was all or nothing with this ball. Slower speeds seemed to make this thing even dirtier than it was. Ball hooks a lot, and it rolls heavy. I could swing it too, but, found it was fairly over under with that shot shape.

Knocking the polish off by hand wirh a 3k pad would probably help with consistency at the breakpoint. I personally dislike the storm factory polish finish on every storm/roto ball I've ever thrown.

Would you consider yourself a speed dominant player ? You seem to imply that the ball works for high rpm slower speed guys.
@thefreeagentbowler4383
@thefreeagentbowler4383 3 жыл бұрын
No, I consider myself matched. I believe that higher rpm, slower speed guy can have a great deal of success because of the cover/core combo. I think this ball is easily overwhelmed with speed. Seems to be the case of everyone I’ve seen using it. The higher speed/Rev guys have struggled and the lower speed, higher Rev players have seemed to have a lot of success with it. I could be off. But, there’s a lot of guys who use this in many of my leagues, and it’s been a live hate thing for all of us I’ve talked to, who are using it.

So I’ve used this ball the last 40 or so games and here’s my thoughts on it fwiw: This is too much ball for most house shots. I have mine drilled 35 x 4.5 x 45, and I find that on a FRESH condition it absolutely crushes the pocket as long as the volume is high enough. I find the cover is very aggressive. It also feels kind of soft compared to say REx or R3S and that makes sense considering it seems to be not as durable against scuffs and scratches and it dents easily. I don’t think it’s a BAD ball at all. I just think it’s going to match with a specific bowler with a particular type of game. This isn’t an all around utility piece… BUT when the condition is right there’s nothing else like it and it carries everything if you even get close to the pocket. It’s a hard one to read because it is very strong cover wise but doesn’t do the “stand up and roll out” like most balls do when they burn up. It just continues like a strong symmetrical with a weight hole. It will burn up, turn the corner, and just plop into the pins. This ball needs volume.

I usually ask staffers what they throw and whats being used on tour. This ball isn't it. From what I've seen it is over under. My PSO was using this in a competitive league Thursday and my ghost (was thr wrong ball for the conditions) looked better. The rst x1 is better on house IMO. If you want to get left and open the lane then the zen
