Terrifying raging seas resulted from high a spring tide combined with a westerly gale on this exposed coast on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, UK.

WOW what a wonderful little film. I thought initially it had been filmed in sepia or with duo tones but then I got the first flash of colour. Amazing to think the sky was really so grey that day. The township looks like an amazing place. Will have to visit in the future. The handrail going down to the sea indicates how much higher the water must be than it usually is. I bett hose sturdy houses along that foreshore have been there a while. Love the photography and the composition. The sound track is brilliant. The content is riveting. THANK YOU very much.

Thank you Lesleyt58. It was quite a dramatic day as you can see. Google Trearddur Bay and see images of how the place normally looks - so very different, with sandy beaches and children paddling.

Thursday 6th March 2014 9pm (UK) Channel 4 are showing a compilation of video clips of the recent storms - including parts of my video here. The programme is Part 2 of "The Storm that stole Christmas".

You have a fantastic way of telling the story. Great ideas too with the speed of the film .

Thank you for your kind words, I tend to see 101 better editing adjustments that I could have made had I spent more time! But thought it better to get the footage posted asap, before it gets outdated by .... the next storm.

Great filming, I'm a bit surprised that the gloomy house and it's island have not been washed away yet.

it's just the kind of mysterious mansion that would emerge entirely unscathed when everything else around it gets washed away ....

I think it belongs to the Guinness family. There's a nice little boat mooring just down the road, even has a ladder or steps going down to it. I used to think it was a great place for a boat, I've changed my mind now lol.

Make sure you give that car a good rinse with fresh water as soon as possible. That salt water is a real killer.

How come the wipers are on intermittent?

I noticed that effect too! I think it's just a quirk of the time lapse - assuming you are referring to the fast scenes.

Is this 30fps laid on a 60fps video track??
@john-of-the-north6 жыл бұрын
I don’t recall but likely 30 FPS however You Tube puts it into its own format when it processes after upload but before publishing, so who knows.

Dont get me wrong, i plus oned, because its good to look at local posts, but really it is a bit of water. Dramatic music on top of a bit of foam does exagerate the reality of a largely benign situation. Try this instead: 2011 Japan Tsunami Caught on CCTV cameras
@john-of-the-north4 жыл бұрын
Well that is not a fair comment is it: I hope I never witness a tsunami at Trearddur Bay. I had to work with what nature presented that day. The situation was not benign as this storm left damage to promenade walls and the children’s play park at the end. Happy with your not liking the music though, I don’t like it myself and might choose to do it differently if starting afresh today.
