I just found this series and I gotta say that I absolutely LOVE it. Most other Presidents Play series have the trio just railing on each other with the same jokes every episode, which has its merits, but it gets stale after a while. The presidents here certainly have their banter with each other but it's a lot more subtle, and I can appreciate that. It's also an educational watch about competitive Pokemon and its mindsets, which to me is a lot more engaging than the background noise that some of the other Presidents Plays series from others may be--again, while it has its merits, got stale for me after a while. Nice job making something fresh to rekindle my love for 44, 45, and 46 playing games!

sick glad you're enjoying this series man! Definitely a different take on pokemon when compared to emerald. This one can compare to a game of chess at the higher level, whereas vanilla emerald is still classified as a children's game haha. So fun to get all pokemon fans involved.

I love that this kind of sounds like actual sports commentary! I love the emerald playthrough but this series is a nice change of pace too with a different kind of vibe that keeps things fresh. Keep up the good work!

Ayy glad you like it! I agree it's a nice change of pace from a vanilla pokemon game. One is kinda intense/competitive, one is a children's game. It's definitely refreshing for me to keep things from getting stale.

I don't see the Emerald videos getting stale any time soon, but good call on introducing a Showdown series. It's awesome, and I haven't seen any other presidents channels playing it, so it's definitely giving you an edge over them. Can't wait to see this channel grow. 🙂

Yee I mean it should not be that challenging in the first few episodes, but they did kinda all get screwed by misses this episode. Couple misplays and a lot of misses, but ultimately got the dubs thankfully.

Oh sick ben! I haven't been top 500 since gen 7, but I never really cared about gen 8. Dynaxmaxing wasn't my cup of tea. I think I peaked around 200 back in the middle of gen 7 randbats. I haven't really pushed much this generation, but I am staying active on my main account to make sure I have the knowledge to get me comfortably to mid-ladder with these guys. Then I will really start to grind on my main account to make sure I'm well equipped when i get on this account.

Glad to hear that man! When we get higher in the ladder things will be ideally be even more informative. In my most recent episode (should be dropping the 26th of December), I go into an interesting aspect of the showdex extension percentages. Obama talks about it at the end of the last battle so make sure to check that episode too. Anyways merry Christmas!

I used to ladder on pokemon online before battle simulation on showdown. They got popular roughly around the same time, but showdown has smogon rules which I find to be quite obnoxious. Give me a good one v one with sleep clause and I'm good.

I'm no Competitive Pokémon expert, but as a Yu-Gi-Oh player I think you should probably get the extension. It isn't the most honourable thing to do but if it's the meta you shouldn't play at that much of a disadvantage.

thanks for the input man. Yugioh is definitely fun too, I haven't been up to date with the meta in like 6 or 7 years though. You can't catch up to yugioh as quickly as you can to competitive pokemon, all the respect to you. I probably will get the extension down the line when we get to mid tier opponents.

I definitely like gen 9 random battles as favorite meta game. Yeah, you definitely get your fair share of hax but it’s also refreshing to have randomized pokemon on both sides. Other non random battles ladders are full of just plain unoriginal and overused cheap Pokémon that takes 2 brain cells to use. That then forces you to use an unoriginal set right back at them making the overall experience of the ladder just bland

yeah randbats is for sure the best meta for me and it always has been. Monotype can be fun too. The thing about randbats though is every pokemon is viable in its own way, and nothing is truly meta defining. I really like that.
