I am in my 60's ,and I have a strong interest in the music of the artist of the early country music era.I try to imagine what it was like to build a career. Learning your craft, getting recognized, playing and travelling , communicating with the people that are waiting to hear your music. The artist of yesterday deserve respect , and I do respect them considerably!

Looks like June was struggling with her heart and kidneys. She was always thin. My Mom did the same. Bless their spirits are singing for the heavenly hosts!

Between the music, June is telling the story of how her dad Ezra, with the help of her uncles, dammed a section of the Holston River and built a power plant in order to provide electricity for his family and the other families in the area. Later when the electric company came through the area, they had to buy him out. In typical Ezra fashion, when they offered him either a variety of electrical appliances or a royalty in exchange for his power plant, Ezra took the appliances. They were the first to have an electric washing machine, electric refrigerator, electric coffee maker, electric carving knife, etc. etc. If he had taken the royalty, he would have become a wealthy man.

Unless you grew up in the Blue Ridge, you might not hear the difference between "mill" & "meal" :)
