Thanks John. I was surprised when I saw those dune shots on the big screen - I really didn't think I'd got anything worthwhile apart from a sand blasted face!!

Thanks Derek - those dune shots were a pleasant surprise actually. They looked OK in muted colour but in mono, the tones and textures really came out

They do work quite well, agreed. Might be some of these shots when you are not convinced of your work and then you come home and it actually works in a way :)

Nice one Jamie. Nothing like a trip to the coast during a storm! Some interesting hand held shots with the splashing waves. Really like those black and white dune shots as well. Cheers, Jeff

lovely job matey. i really like the railing shots and the sand dune images are really modern love the simplicity of them!

Thanks bud! Enjoyed taking those railings shots - something I've never done i.e. shoot waves! Of course an experienced seascape tog like yourself would have done much better 😉

Lovely vlog bud, the start especially was brilliant, you really set the scene nicely. The dune images are gorgeous. 👍

Cheers mate, those waves were angry! Didn't think I'd captured those dune images properly until I got back. I was trying to use the smooth texture of the blown sand and blowing grasses and I think in mono it seems to work well. Glad you like them

Hi Jamie, wonderful action pictures, love watching the waves, wind and rain, worked in an office most of my life, so I love to be out and about now I’m retired, love walking with a group, I always have my camera ready and a pair of binoculars there’s always something interesting to see. I spotted Ely Cathedral from the fens, must take more photos next time. Have you taken any of Ely from a distance? See you again soon. Deanne x
@JamieOverland4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed it Deanne, thanks. No I’ve never taken any shots of Ely Cathedral but I’ve seen plenty of great shots taken of it from afar. That’s maybe an idea for a further trip/vlog!

A great video, Jamie - with fantastic results as usual. Really amazing these waves and how close you got with your gear. I don't have problems with rain or water from a waterfall etc., but I always try to keep saltwater away :)

I took some wave shots a week ago but to be honest they weren't up to much as we have such an indented coastline that the energy has depleted unless you're facing open ocean. The Japanese have a phrase for that being drawn to the woods 'shinrin-yoku' (forest bathing). Although I appreciate all landscapes, even if we're not talking photography, I'm at my most relaxed in the woods, good for the soul and all that. Nice pics all round. The advantage to fenland is that the roads are usually good and straight so you can multi-site quite quickly (national speed limits of course apply....;-)
@JamieOverland4 жыл бұрын
Hi Iain! Forest bathing....now that conjures up some odd things in my mind, none of which I'm likely to share!! The woods certainly seems to be my 'happy place'!
@iainmc98594 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the phrase doesn't cross my mind without the thought of budgie smugglers....or perhaps we finally find out where the squirrel keeps his nuts :-)
