A very fun athletics fact is that Tuaraki Delamere a kiwi athlete actually did the front flip technique in competition for the first time back in the 70s. He followed the same physics logic as you all, and he did go super far except he flubbed the landing. It was banned pretty much straight after. But what can never be banned is that at one competition, in the 70s, everyone watched an athlete do a surprise tactical flip right in front of them.

Used to do semi-professional athletics myself... long jump being one of my main courses. I've never been more hyped for an episode! I genuinely expected them all to score at least low 6m at the least, they have the athletic ability to do so, but it seems that landing on your feet takes a damn lot of distance of. Still... I don't think a lot of other athletes would be comfortable jumping that far and landing with both feet first; or even do a frontflip at all! Man I loved this episode to death EDIT: Also honourable mention for Drew's sprint. He came in second, but his form was better; had a genuinely good run going on in the mid section of the sprint

Yep, really puts things into perspective when you see Toby's best effort is "just" 2/3 of that. This is why I think we should have an amateur athlete "compete" in some of the events. yes but the world record for a run up box jump is 63.5 inches, or 161.29 cm so he beat it either way

As a track athlete, 6m jump is good for someone who doesn’t train. Add a few months of speed, power and technique training with an athletics coach, then there’s no reason why he can’t reach 7m! Great video :)
