[Story 130] Market day! Buy rattan fruit (littuko) to ferment | Peaceful morning in the countryside!

The morning is my favorite part of the day. I love waking up early to witness the foggy morning and hear the birds and insects making sounds. The farmers working early is makes me smile and inspired. Today, I picked some bitter gourd and tomatoes in my garden and sauteed it for breakfast. My siblings went to school very early and father went to the mountain before I wake up. I ate breakfast with my older bro and mother.
Today is market day too. I went to the Bambang Public Market to buy various things. I bought rattan fruit or littuko in our local language. I fermented the littuko and used the remaining as a souring agent to sinigang.

Littuko or rattan fruit has a sour and slightly sweet taste. It is a fruit native to South East Asia and other parts of the world. Its vine is used to make furniture and other crafts. Here in Nueva Vizcaya Province, you can find a lot of them in the mountains. Tourists can buy a lot of products made from rattan or uway in the local language. Bags, chairs, tables, just name it we have it. Fermented rattan fruit is a must try too. Hi sa inyong lahat. Sana happy kayo palagi gagayyem (friends) Smile lagi. 💪😀

Ilocano is a language though and not a dialect. Don't make your language inferior. Ilocano, Tagalog, Ilonggo, Bisaya are all languages of the Philippines. These languages however are divided into dialects. Take Tagalog for example. Tagalog Batangas, Tagalog Bicol, Tagalog Manila are dialects of the Tagalog language. Cagayan Ilocano, Cordilleran Ilocano, Pangasinan Ilocano etc. are all dialects of the Ilocano language.
