Regarding the curtains… take the left hand pink panel and put it on the left of the bare window, then take the white curtains and place each of those on the other side of the pink curtains. There is no rule that the two panels on one single window need to match. So, window one: pink and white. Window two: white and pink

I sure understand finding comfort in order and having your special things surrounding you. Your place is really coming together! Love those curtains...To save your heirloom carpet, look up DIY carpet binding tape - looks pretty straight forward - just need exacto knife, hot glue and scissors...and the carpet binding tape...you can do this!! LOL! I did hold my breath while you stood on the bucket...I wrote down all the instructions for taking care of Charlie. 😆🥰

Consider getting the rug professionally repaired. It seems like a precious heirloom that still holds value to you. Or, you can always use industrial strength velcro and hang it on the wall for an art statement.

I know you said you're not handy but you could try buying binding at a fabric store to cover the edges of that rug. I believe they sell kinds that are iron-on and self adhesive so that you don't have to sew.

I love your cozy space. Suggestions:....Home Depot --$7-10 great deal (9'x10' plastic dropcloths/pak of 6), and save up for a cordless drill. The cheap cloths will protect your space from any messy projects you do inside the cottage. And find some cheap shelving/pegboard to corral all of your tools/home maintenance materials as you will always need them.

My goodness! You have a gift when it comes to decor. Your new cottage is absolutely magical. To you, it may be a bit overwhelming with a fridge and stove in your living room, but, to the rest of us, it looks like a place that is being loved, and being cherished, by giving it time to evolve into this fairyland that I know you will make it. What a beautiful cottage you are making it. Even though it is not completely done, please take a breath, and watch the beauty unfold. I have lived, literally, without a kitchen, just table saws and one microwave, and a sink that dripped, into a bucket that I had to empty, every night, but, it was worth it, as, the magic came together, and I got to watch and live through every step, until the finale finally came. I think it is looking fantastic. I also was going to suggest hanging the rug like a tapestry. They work great for keeping the room warmer, if hung on a north or west facing wall. Anyhow, I love what you've gotten done so far and the rest will come. The flowing creek is beautiful. I must try this face mask :). You can hang your Grandparents rug! The peach bedroom drapes give off a lovely soft light. If you cannot find a duplicate for the other window, you can use only 1 flower panel per window. I like your wall papered bedroom door! I think you will enjoy your new home. It is brighter and larger, and the color scheme is on point.

Get yourself a set of Ryobi rechargeable tools, the whole set....they're a little smaller and not scary so you will use them. Go to a big box store and ask them what are the basics you should have...a screw driver set is a must....but find out about pliers, wrenches, wire cutter, etc. You will seriously tackle more if you have some tools. Good luck in your new nest....Make your garden tool list as you are working. FYI; a HORI HORI knife is a garden tool you will covet....it will last forever too.

You could try hanging one curtain at each window, they look wide enough to cover window when drawn, put something on the wall in between the windows to make up for there not being a curtain there, I think this will fit in with the quirkiness of your home. I have done this in my home when I only have one curtain I like or have used a quilt cover I particularly like the colours of, as a curtain. Give it a try until you find more, they definitely look better that the white ones. Happy Homemaking. x

since my husband died, I have to do a lot of things in my home. I am 72 and my son-in-law help me out a lot ❤but I make sure I have a toolbox and I have other tools that I need and they do come in handy that’s what you should invest in..and you can get them all on Amazon ❤invest in good screwdrivers. It’ll save you in the long run.❤

Beautiful. By mounting your curtain rod so that the innermost curtain sets on the outer window; it will allow the most light and make the window appear larger.

As regards to the rug , you could get some matching red wool and do a large overstitch on the fraying edges with a darning needle . Would cure the fuzzy bits 🤗

Hi. Loving your cottages and gardens. Regarding the pink curtains, put one on the right side of the right window, left side of the left window. Put the white curtains in the middle or even extend the rod over both windows and place the white curtains across the wall as well, giving the illusion of one large window. You don't have to have another pair of pink curtains to utilize them (or til you find another pair). Regarding your red rug, you could look at rebacking it or possibly a less expensive way attach to another rug so it doesn't continue to unravel. You could also use as a wall hanging or cut up to make smaller rugs/pillows, chair seat cover. I hope it doesn't have to be put out of site. Looking forward to more decor 😊

I'm pulling for you! Maybe get some rug tape and tape the end so he can't get to it?(or painters tape, or even duct tape if you want it more permanent. You could probably find a color to even match the rug so that it wouldn't be too noticable) And until you find more of the colored curtain panels, you could treat the 2 windows like one, use the pink one on the outer edges and the white on the inner edges. Also love Lauren's idea about using them as swags over the tops. I have some old unmatched India print cotton twin tapestries for swags (they each have terra cotta for their base color) and they look fantastic

Your new cottage is so adorable. One idea you could do until you find another set of the pink thrifted curtains is hang one panel on the right hand side of the right window and the other panel on the left hand side of the left window so it looks like you are treating the two narrow windows as one large window (if you know what I mean). You could even tie them back in a gentle swoop to each side to emphasize that they are one half of the whole picture. Hope this makes sense😊. Also Charlie is so cute!

It’s looking wonderful! You have such a fun style. I was going to suggest the beautiful carpet as wall art as well. My Dutch mama had a special carpet on the wall for many years behind her piano. Also your lovely pink panels could be layered over white ones and tied like on your other window, if you can’t find another pair. But whatever you do will be adorable. Keep the rug. It's so pretty and warms the place up. Spray a bit of chew stop on the edges. That will keep Charley at bay. A good rug shop can fix the unraveling ends and even sew new fringe. Beautiful transformations…love the new space and the light..you can turn under the raw edges of the frayed carpet and stick them down with carpet tape to keep the dog-boy from messing with them…blessings on your lovely new home. Snuggle in just in time for winter!

More, one Panel on the end of each window with the white ones in the center...will be a cute fix until you find ( and You Will) matching panels. Will look like this Pink on the end with two white panels, two white panels pink on the end of the other window. Definitely mirror in the middle ❣

Just found you a few days ago. Very serendipitous. RE; carpet possible solution. Paint the edge with cheap clear nail polish. It's a lovely carpet.

Whenever I am doing a big project everything always looks like beautiful chaos before it gets back together in place. You will get there, it is really coming along! I love your color choices- the kitchen curtains ( black floral) just pop and remind me of one of my favorite scarves. It HAS been cold in the Hudson Valley! I hope have enjoyed some of the warmer weather we had too- I hung clothes out on the line and they dried- not frozen! Have a wonderful New Year and thank you!

Regarding your rug, you could heat glue some bullion fringing to the two fraying edges which would stabilise and disguise the fray, although your little pooch may still find the fringing irissistable. The other option could be some upholstery braid or velvet ribbon folded over the raw edge. I'm so excited to see your new house take shape inside and out as 2023 progresses. Happy New Year! x

My fingers were itching to try the pink curtains: left on the left window and right on the right window. Then the white ones (or different ones) right on the left window and left on the right window. That’s symmetrical and both windows might look like a unit - somehow. You’re getting there and I am sure your new home will look super beautiful! Thank you for sharing so much aesthetic inspiration! Love your channel. You could fold a coordinating fabric or ribbon over edge of carpet and iron it on both sides with sticky fabric glue strips.
