As I thought about the pikmin argument more I think I understand where simple is coming from. The way I see it, Simple is a fan of games that are centered around the 'short challenge' Level-based structures, things like tetris where you can plan ahead but it's all about your next 3-4 moves, things like CSGO which include moderate amounts of planning but a heavy amount of intense execution. Compared to the 'long challenge' Which is things like pikmin, where the task you overcome is maximizing your time and executing on a plan, you start each day with an objective in mind, and dedicate yourself to it. Of course, nobody commits fully to one category over the other, simpleflips speedruns a lot, and that is a 'long challenge' format, but I think when it comes to moment-to-moment gameplay he prefers things which are 'short challenge' At least, from what I've seen, maybe he plays a fuckton of factorio off-camera and I'm way off base.

@narkfly Basically, the timer in the background was a timed bomb that, if reached 0, would inflate the glitter balloon and eventually blow up. Every sub lowered the timer by 1 minute, and Simple could only press a button at minimum 4 minutes remaining to restart the timer and had to do so for 5 days straight
