I won tickets off of the radio to see Buju because I was the first one to answer with whom did Buju do various duets. (Obviously it was with Beres Hammond.) It was crazy because I was just visiting Salt Lake City and happened to find a radio station that was playing reggae. Beres puts on an awesome show too.

I must consider Uncle Beres Hammond to be Jamaica's Marvin Gaye because he sings about "Love" which is sorely lacking in some of today's music.

Started singing soul… before Reggae….Beres Hammond doesn’t sing Lovers Rock… sings Authentic Reggae…..Lovers Rock is a style of Reggae based in UK….eg Louisa Mark Janet Kay Carroll Thompson Trevor Walters Investigators One Blood Tradition Peter Hunnigale Sandra Cross…..some Jamaican artists like Al Campbell Dennis Brown Gregory Isaacs Errol Dunkley…. Followed the Lovers Rock style because they were living in the UK at one time and recorded there….

Nah Beres first song he recorded was a reggae song "no more war" produced by Herman Loy Chin in the early 70s before he released his first solo album & joined with Zap Pow.

@ …. Beres Hammond first tune was in 1972…. A tune called Wanderer….. but his FIRST big hit tune in Jamaica was a Soul Ballad tune called One Step Ahead
