I genuinely can't get enough of the lion sagas that take place within prides. I could watch them in a reality TV format of day to day life, and it would never grow old. I am always so emotionally invested, and hanging on every ounce of information I can find about different prides, coalitions, kings, and the cubs, that are seemingly hanging on by a thread all the time. Their survival is so precarious, and there is something incredibly beautiful, and mesmerizing about that. Each time I find a tantalizing morsel of information on a specific lion or pride, only to find them still successful, my heart sighs with relief. Of course it is always with a heavy heart and honest grief and sorrow, for the glorious and fearless kings and queens who have been selected by nature to give their life to protect their pride's successes. They're capable of deep self sacrificing love for each other. They're also capable of some of the most brutal, heartless, demonstrations of survival being only for the fittest I have ever seen. It is enthralling, and I am certainly captivated by them.

Update: After three months of being nomadic, Dark Mane found the Talamatis about a week ago and has been with them since. They were seen together near Arathusa today.

I pray Dark Mane will be ok somehow, he still has a lot to give a pride being only 9 years old. Mohawk was just doing what came naturally to lions. It is sad, but thats nature at its rawest. We love Dark Mane stay safe.

Appreciate your work in putting the pieces together regarding dark mane. So, now blonde also has a limp, however, it appears that Mohawk is okay with his injury but not dark mane’s limp. Makes me wonder if dark mane is really an Avoca. Why did Mohawk reject him? Of course, we may never now.

Mohawk and Dark Mane were seen feeding together in October 2021. They had no problem with each other. Don't know why Mohawk rejected him earlier.

Also DM suffer some Injuries last month that could be made by mohawk as he was seen in North sabi sands in the same moment. Mohawk and his selfish is the responsable by the ruin of the coalition.

Mohawk sees that in this state, DM is no use for him, only a burden. Thats how lions behave, its all about strenght and power..

You definitely worded the Birmingham Boys vacating the north wrong. They didn't leave because the Avocas persisted. They left because they wanted to. They retuned north and chased the Avocas out and then left again and never returned so the Avocas took over

Yeah, Bboys had already pretty much abandoned the north completely in early 2018 when their Kambula cubs were born., the Avocas weren't even a thing in late 2017 when Bboys began abandoning their territory. Not sure why he is trying to put them down.

Basically the 3 coalitions mentioned in this vid. The 4 Ndhzengas, Avocas, and Plains camp males move near that area. The lone remaining Birmingham male, last I heard, is mostly in/near Kruger

@Bruce Wayne these 3 invading males aren't larger than the ndzengas. They are a very young group, but seem to be pretty aggressive for their age. From what i gathered, the 3 invaders found one if the already injured ndzengas alone and roughed him up, but no serious injuries. 2 of the invaders responded the the other ndzengas coming to help and ended up being chased off. The third invader stayed with the injured ndzenga but they never fought 1v1. He was the smallest of the invaders from reports. He eventually moved away after his coalition mates.

These three are my heart and have been for 4 years. I love each one the same. They all have different wonderful ways. I hope that Dark Mane gains strength and confidence during this time. While the Nkuhumas new cubs are small I do not think they will be able to be united as these new moms do not even want the subadults around their cubs more a less Dark Mane (even though he mated with them) around them. As moms all understandable. So with that I can only hope for the very best and continue to love and hope for healing, health and safety for all three.

@@donnacollingridge5709 Yes - I don't understand what's going on with DM. He was looking great in December. Then January 2022 came and he began to look awfully thin and was losing his mane. Although he had lost condition, he was still with his pride at the beginning of the 2022. I'm confused as to 1) Why DM lost condition, all of a sudden, at the beginning of the new year? 2) Why was DM with his pride at the beginning of the year but is not with his pride now? Can someone answer this?

I really find it troubling how the rangers , with their hands off policy with regards to the animals , but you would think they would step in when the MANGE infection is concerned , Rangers step in if an animal is caught in a snare, is on the edge of death in extreme pain , if they keep the hands off policy especially when mange is concerned then they can't jump up and down over lions low lion no/ edging closer to extinction.

@@greatbearfromthenorth9944 Imbali male is not really the reason the for Darkmane's current situation. He did take away few females that is it. After that he stopped. Nkuhuma pride were increasingly south. Now the Nkuhuma pride and Mohawk and Blondie are in Darkmane's old territory djuma. It is them who chased off Talamati pride members and Darkmane. If I remember correctly. About a month back only Blondie was with Nkuhuma pride around Londolozi. Mohawk in the mean time went north to Create some chaos. After a week Talamati pride members is Sabi sands west and Darkmane in central Sabi sands. Now he is south. Nkuhuma pride further north in Darkmane's area. This tells the story.

You missed a lot of Info. 1. Hairy belly was beaten up by the N Avocas. 2. Mfumo birmingham disappeared around the same time N Avocas took Northern sabi sands. Last seen heading north towards N Avoca territory. 3. Blonde DID NOT RECEIVE THAT LIMP FROM the Birmingham clash. He had that limp since 2019. Look at some old videos.

You've got wrong info. No Mfumo was last seen north of their territory at the time and the Avocas were never seen with injuries to indicate they fought a prime male. Number 2, Blondie was injured again by Tinyo when the two clashed.

Avocas took talamati pride way before the nkuhumas and then they start to interact with some nkuhumas near manyeleti, the 3 avoca kill a buff and share the carcass with some nkuhumas and from there they start to move more south into djuma, where they were seen in that epic footage on djuma dam cam for the first time... the 3 together on the hunt! Yep mfumo was last seen in arathusa or heading into that area, 3 males vs 1 and they can easily kill a lion without major injuries and avocas esp blondie were sporting injuries later in 2018 and so on, blondie has been limping from all legs i believe 😅 he is a tough boy.

Northern Avocas have never been scared of the bboys. Even when bboys were 4 strong and in their prime while avocas were 3 and still young. I believe N Avocas killed Mfumo and Bboys stopped trying to reclaim the north after that. N avocas split plus permanent injuries to blondie and dark mane early in their adult life stopped N Avoas advancing on Bboys territory until late last year/early this year.
