Srivilliputhur a town in Virudhunagar district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu,
Srivilliputhur is known for a milk sweet called as Srivilliputhur Palkova.It is an eggless milk recepie. The palkova is also known as MILK PEDA. “Srivilliputhur” is the place which is famous for palkova because Srivilliputhur is also famous for the milk society, due to that milk production leads to the manufacturing for palkova.The Srivilliputhur Milk Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. and other local vendors started the production of the sweet from 1977 after the white revolution in the 1970s. The industry provides employment to the citizens of the town. Holy places like Srivilliputhur Andal Temple and Sri Vaidyanathar Temple located here draw thousands of pilgrim.Srivilliputhur palkova has bagged the Geographical Indication (GI) tag bringing much cheer to its makers who say it will go a long way to sweeten their lives.
