You have done justice to this consummate masterpiece of an album. Thank You. Peter had a brilliant mind and superior wit. He stood firm to his beliefs and commitment to equal right and justice all over the world. The brutality which was often unleashed on him by Babylon never deter him from what he viewed as his life's mission as he made it clear that 'I am not in this world to live up to your expectation'. He was that he was. His music is inspirational and timeless. I never tire of just listening to his music for hours on end, on each occasion being inspired and soul soothing all over again. He truly was one of a kind. Rest in tranquillity my brother.

As always RAS, you do justice to your subject matter. In many ways, "Equal Rights" is the perfect Reggae album: deftly combining searing social protest lyrics with incredibly vibrant musical rhythms, percussion and beats. A masterpiece worthy of this KZbin channel. Thank you!

Best Tosh album indeed, sounding absolutely great thanks to the wonderful musical combination of Wailers musicians and the Riddim Twins! Just a pity that it only contains 8 tracks (leaving some other great songs on the shelves, like the outstanding 'Vampire'); especially since - unfortunately - his music never managed to maintain the same standards ever since, as it got pretty much watered-down after teaming up with the Rolling Stones. But this one remains a timeless classic indeed! (even better than the - probably more famous - "Legalize It")

@ReggaeAppreciationSociety well I tried making it The Magi Center, it's more multi faith as yes, Indians predicted Jesus long ago; those wise men from the east. Alas, it burnt down in a fire years ago and was never rebuilt. I'll look for some rasta family today, that's who I want to Celebrate with . ✌️

I'm still amazed at all the songs Tosh left off of Equal Rights.Mark of the Beast,Babylon Queendom,Vampire etc.Tosh had enough for a whole "nother LP, 400 Years,You can't blame the youth... See there were always two sides to Peter Tosh.He was militant yes but people sometimes forget Tosh was also the Wailer who did the most covers of pop songs and wrote quite a few himself.Even as late as Mama Africa he did Johnny B. Goode.From the very beginning of the Wailers Tosh did this.Of course,the Wailers weren't alone in this.Many artists in Ska,Rock Steady and Reggae did covers of American pop songs. All of the Wailers could be militant.Bunny certainly was up until he went the Dancehall route.Bob Marley wrote plenty of heavy songs in his lifetime.I don't think this is even in question. Curiously, this LP was as militant as Tosh would ever get and once Tosh signed to Rolling Stones records his power was strangely diluted. I just never liked the idea of people who always want to pit Marley and Tosh against each other.Despite their disagreements they were brothers even if Tosh refused to go to Bob's funeral.
@MsWildberry1

Peter never refused to go to Bob's funeral. Many Rasta don't go to funeral. Bunny did not go. Bib did not go to Jacob Miller's funeral and they was brethren.

Here in Scotland the name MacIntosh derives from the Gaelic "Mac an Taosaich" (Son of Clan leader/chief). In Ireland (Irish and Scottish Gaelic are similar) the name for President is Taosaich meaning "Leader".

Tosh did have a good singing (and speaking) voice, but Bob Marley also sang his songs much better than Tosh did his, and Marley was by far more charismatic on stage!!
