Have you walked Great Glen Way? How did you find it? Or are you thinking to? Let me know in the comments….

One of my regular walks. Thanks for covering it. I like walking it most years and hope to walk it again in April (or before, depending on weather. Hopefully the path down the East side of Loch Oich will have re-opened by then. The walk on the other side is closed-in with vegetation which restricts the view too much for me! I too have been hit by a storm passing up the glen. Two years ago, I was camping at Laggan Locks, in a pleasant sunny evening, very calm.... then a storm appeared above Fort William and came steadily up the glen.. it hit me 20 minutes later... heavy rain and very strong winds... then passed by after 15 minutes.....fortunately no damage! Of passing interest...... the hulk of the boat at 14'20" is the remains of an old car ferry that used to convey cars many years ago across the Ballachulish narrows, but the bridge was built about 50 years ago. If you "Google" it, you will see what the old ferries looked like. Happy walking. :-)

@@alanbrown9178 oh wow I did not know that about the boat! Thats fascinating actually….I feel due to it being our first trip together we kinda didn’t focus much on any historical things…I feel like though there is a lot around great glen way and pretty interesting ones…yeah the east side by loch oich was a bummer we had to miss…it’s not nothing special the upper path there…storms can be scary…I’m used to thunder storms which is even worse but here the sudden hit and high winds or mist can be very challenging too 😬 glad all went well and it was fast over. Good luck on the walk I’d be curious to know how it went and if the loch oich path reopened.

@@evachjourney I've just checked the Highland Region website for the GGW and the closure at Loch Oich is in place until "Januaru 2025". I'll hopefully walk it in the Spring or early Summr and let you know then. Happy Walking. :-)

An incredible trip Eva. You both weathered some storms and had some amazing sacred tucked-away pitches there. Another one for digging in but also for taking in the delights of the trail. That mouse? Brilliant painting. I've had mice visit before and eat through my rations. They are lovely. Well. great to see you both having the best time. Have a great 2025. Mark
