My foundation score was just 84. Which is enough for uni adelaide. But i am worried about other unis. Also, can you suggest some interview skills.
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 16 күн бұрын
Definitely apply to as many schools as you can!! i’d say the interview holds the highest weightage tho 😊 so don’t worry too much. I will try to gather all my tips for interview and hopefully get them on another video soon!! thanks for the suggestion 🌟

Hi, I am in year 11 and just did mock ucat exam and got the score 2590. I have done few practice test before i did this mock exam. What is minimum score i need to get the interview?
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 5 күн бұрын
hey! 2590 is a really great start ;)) the relative minimum score you need would depend on your application pathway eg. rural/non-rural…, domestic/ international and which unis are you applying to. usually they school rank the applicants’ ucat scores and select from the top a certain amount to offer interview offers! some unis would have this information on their website. for example, the median score from successful applicants of the last cycle. hope this helps 🌟 also, since you’re in year 11 and still have a while until your actual ucat i’m assuming, i would suggest practise and trying to improve your score by individual subtest focus!!

Hi Jinny I am so happy for you and congratulations on your results. I have a question if you don’t mind answering. I am a year 12 international student studying in Melbourne. Today I sat my exam and scored 2790. I was wondering if that can be considered for an interview? I worked really hard and I am really scared for not being able to get an interview. It would be really nice of you if you could assist me with that.
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 15 сағат бұрын
First off, big congrats on your achievements on the ucat so far!! 😍 From experience and what I have seen from the last 2-3 cycles, 2790 stands a really high chance of receiving interview offers from multiple universities from an international students route. I hope that you planned to or have already applied to as many schools as you can. You absolutely shouldn’t be scared and I hope you can try to stay mentally strong and optimistic about your application and believe that you’re on your own journey rather than having to compete for the spots. From here, i recommend looking forward, forget about ucat, and start preparing for the interviews❤️❤️ i’m here if you need more guidance, and thank you for your kind words ;) good luck!! 🌟

You are so sweet, also I struggle a lot with syllogisms in Dm 😭😭😭, do you have any tips
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 14 күн бұрын
i find syllogisms challenging as well! so i usually skipped any questions that looks confusing first (still randomly fill something in), flag, and keep in mind to save some time at the end for them! you can’t skip too many tho so be quite selective!! this prevents me from losing more marks that i could have gotten from easier questions ;) i find this method works best for me. but it terms of the syllogism questions themselves, probably try to understand why you get it wrong, try to make sense of it in a simplest way for you (sometimes venn diagram helps) 🩷🩷

What universities can I apply to, what universities did you apply to. Can you share a list?
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 16 күн бұрын
sure! here’s my list 1. UNSW * (ucat/ isat) 2. UTAS ** (ucat/ isat) 3. University of Western Sydney (isat) 4. University of Adelaide ** (ucat) 5. Joint Medical Program (University of newcastle) ** 6. Monash (isat) 7. Flinders * 8. James Cook please note that this is not a complete list but it covers most of them ;). each uni may have different entry requirements in terms of - ucat/ isat - school result - subject specific pre-requisite etc. There are some additional unis too if you are also interested in doing dentistry/ oral health. The ones with star (*) are the unis i applied to and the ones with 2 stars (**) are the unis i got offers from! Hope this helps✨ and if you’re at the college, the staff will also be able to help you with these as well i believe.

@@jinnyjitpinant hi, just wanted to ask, what does isat mean? Is it the SAT test or similar? If u dont mind me asking (if it was the SAT) what score did u get and what score did the unis u applied to require? Lastly, what ucat scores did the unis u applied to require (or minimum score they wanted)? Thanks so much!
@jinnyjitpinant
@jinnyjitpinant 15 күн бұрын
hi! ISAT is the International Student Admission Test for international students applying to medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and some allied health courses if required. The test is a 3 hour multiple choice computer-based assessment. (It’s different from the SAT!) you could find out more about the test details and test windows at isat.acer.org. 😊 For both years of application, I did not sit the ISAT and only apply to schools that accept the UCAT. For the UCAT, usually there is no minimum score but they use a ranking system where they rank all the candidates’ UCAT score and select the top number to offer interviews. But there are also exceptions, for example, UNSW require at least score of 50th percentile to be considered (this would fall at the score of 2500++) You can check the requirements again through each uni website!!

I am writing to seek your guidance regarding the possibility of pursuing an MBBS degree despite not having a traditional science background in my O and A Levels. I have completed my A Levels with subjects that do not include Biology, Physics, or Chemistry. However, I am very determined to become a doctor and a surgeon. Given this situation, I have several questions that I hope you can help me with: 1. **Eligibility for MBBS**: Can I pursue an MBBS degree without having studied Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in my O and A Levels? Are there any specific bridging courses or preparatory programs that I need to complete before applying to an MBBS program? 2. **UCAT Preparation**: I understand that the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is an important requirement for medical school admissions. Could you provide information on how to best prepare for the UCAT, especially considering my non-science background? Are there any recommended resources or study plans tailored for students like me? 3. **Additional Recommendations**: Are there any other steps or considerations I should be aware of to improve my chances of being admitted into an MBBS program? Your insights and advice will be incredibly valuable to me as I navigate this challenging but important journey towards my goal. I appreciate your time and assistance in advance. Thank you very much for your help.

1. it would depends on whether that specific mbbs program that you’re interested in have a science pre-requisite. this can vary from uni to uni, i suggest looking at the listed requirements from the university websites. and if they do require those science subjects that you did not do in the O/A levels, yes! there are some bridging courses you can do to ensure that you meet those requirements (usually a 10months course). you can take a look at foundation courses, usually offered by the university or their partnered school. you could email them about your specific situation as it seems very unique! 2. UCAT is an aptitude test that has no requirement of science knowledge, however, a slight reliance on mathematics in the third subtest! so don’t worry if you do not have phy/ chem/ bio foundation! i suggest you try out the question banks on the ucat official website, just to get a feel of what it is like! for further preparation, i suggest consistent practice and strategic improvement on platform like medentry/ medify which mimics the real test. 3. interview is a huge, in fact, the most important part of the application for anyone. perhaps getting more familiar with the nature of application would be helpful? i really hope that these answer your queries, and if there is any further questions, do let me know! 😊
