Great stuff Ron. It's inspirational to see the efficiency and organizational ideas that you have come up with. I am currently trying to figure out a workflow in my 2 car garage, that I only have 1/4 of, that I can dedicate to my work area. I want to try and incorporate some of your ideas, but on a more stationary level.

Thanks Ron. Appreciate seeing your jobs. I am still a huge fan of your miter station . Love it due to the light weight and being able to make a first cut after only about 4 minutes of setup time. Often I don't need the larger work table so the miter station is my go to. Would like to revise both extensions to be like your PTS2 type soon. Thanks Ron, hope you're enjoying retirement.

Hey Ron, As a starting contractor I really like to learn from your years of experience and how you have adapted your gear to make the work flow more efficient. Videos like the storytime really help me to see your development over the year and understand how you became the builder you are today. Also good as a realisation that things are not optimized in 1 day, but take time and trail and error and result in the solution. Another interesting point in your videos is the fact that you use trailers. Here in the Netherlands we only have vans, and trailers, open and closed, are only used to transport material behind the workvan. Interesting to see how you guys in the USA use them. You already said in the video how you parked it securly at clients houses before leaving. It would be my greatest fear to leave in the evening and arive in the morning to see an empty trailer, or worst, no trailer. Is this something that happens in the USA? Greetings from the Netherlands

Love your videos. I've been building and installing custom cabinets for 39 years from a shop on my property and a 7'x16' trailer and am always looking for ways to update and improve methods. After all those years of processing panels with a sliding table saw, I have seen the light when it comes to using a track saw setup instead. Besides being more accurate, my days of lifting and pushing panels through a table saw are numbered being 67 years old. You've got me hooked . I've downloaded 5 of your plans and look forward to reconfiguring my shop and trailer to a more efficient setup. A sincere thank you for all your time and effort producing these great videos and shop table designs.

Fun video and thanks for the lookback. I'm always interested to see other's projects and how they do things. Interesting to see your workspace evolution, as I've struggled with the same sorts of things over the years. Speaking of bathrooms, I renovate my own rental properties and have blown many bathrooms down to the studs, and even sistered floor joists on some really rotten ones before building them back together. I will be between project houses in a few weeks, and intend to build a PSS. Looking forward to making my productivity cleaner/faster/better, and having fun in the process. Cheers from the (currently) icy midwest.

You are a great inspiration. I own a small Home Repair (one man show) company and I have started using some of your ideas. When you work alone you need that Second set of hands on the long stuff, thanks to you I now have holders and clamps I never thought about before. I just completed some fascia and soffit using 20' stock using your idea of the crown holders. It was easy and efficient. Thanks Michael in Charlotte.

Hi Ron. I purchased the plans and built the compact work bench. I really like it but I'm wondering if anyone else has issues with the folding legs walking around and just not wanting to stay flat and firm to the floor? I saw in one of your previous videos that you made a spreader/shelf to keep everything locked in. I may have to try that out...
@TheOneWhoMightBe
@TheOneWhoMightBe 4 жыл бұрын
I've made a couple of Ron's workbenches. Haven't had any problems with the legs walking around despite cutting them with a jigsaw instead of a tracksaw. I have gone back to hinges rather than simple woven nylon straps at the tops of the legs, though.

@chrismoore9997

Those Rousseau saw stands are expensive. Can't you find a saw that will fit the stand you already have? It might be worth adapting the saw to fit the stand.
@JasonTaylor1
@JasonTaylor1 4 жыл бұрын
@@chrismoore9997 that was my first intent. I actually took the stand to Menards and physically fit the smaller skill saw into it but it required taking some screws out of the fence. Ultimately I'd like for whatever I use to still work with its original fence for small jobs. It really wouldn't be a huge deal to cut the stand at its rear weld point and extend it by the few edges that needs to fit most modern saws.

Just pulled up your idea for the torsion box extensions to your Dewalt miters stand. I may do that to mine. I like it's simplicity but find I cannot keep the stand wings at the proper level. Built your 6' work station last winter. It took me longer than it should have to build but am enjoying it now. I'm still running an old Mikita table saw on a Rousseau stand. Speaking about the table, it seems I alway hav ether sacrificial foam on top and hardly use the bench dogs. What about building a template for a sacrificial board that one could drill out 3/4 or even 1" holes? Screw the board on and exchange it as needed but still have full use of the bench dog holes without dealing with removing the sacrificial board or having in the way. Just an idea.

Locates the 'wings' on the mitre station. On mine I also added a blind tee nut on the top of the wing and used a simple star knob from the underside to solidly lock it down.

@@zone4garlicfarm Actually this is my third career. It just happens to be the WORST as far as remuneration goes.
