As a small business owner this really makes me angry. I can’t imagine having to cancel a huge event like that last minute and not only not find a way to make it right and get SOMEONE out there to set up the event but on top of all that treat a customer so disrespectfully. It is so shameful because there is probably plenty of businesses in that area doing the same thing that actually deserve her clientele. It’s like you said though Paris, karma does come to collect. When it does she’s probably going to be scratching her head wondering what happened. As a business owner there ARE times you don’t agree with a client (this business owner had no grounds to even be mad over the situation but there are situations where the client may be in the wrong) THAT SAID this is not the way to handle it at all. You don’t make up lies to cancel on someone. I personally do not cancel period - if I make a commitment that’s it - if we have issues that can be taken care of AFTERWARDS and I then can chose to not do business with you going forward if we can’t reach a solution. She was mad for no reason. I’m glad your baby shower still went off without a hitch because you can just tell she was trying to jeopardize the whole thing over greediness.

I think her main issue is that she assumed you were going to give her free promo. If you know part of someone's job/work is getting paid to do promos then you would obviously need to mention that in a contract or have some kind of agreement. I doubt she dropped 6 clients for you because that would be moronic but even if she did why would she do that when she had no agreement with you to do so. You can promote whatever you want when you want and you can tag and shout people out for free or for money or whatever. But if she was EXPECTING a business transaction then she should've SAID THAT. I did decorative balloons at one point and I get why people charge so much. It's not just balloons and air and it really is a lot of work and I couldn't keep up because it was time consuming and hard labor if it's not your full time business. But for her to EXPECT you to shout her out and give her a promotional video like she's ScentBird 🤣 The promo at the end has me rolling.
