Gosberth Godfrey Kibanza, known as "GoSby," was born on April 7, 1990, in Dodoma, Tanzania. In 1994, his family moved to Dar es Salaam, where his passion for music emerged. At just five years old, GoSby began rapping, and his stage name was coined by classmates who struggled to pronounce his name. His debut single, "We Vipi We," hit the airwaves in 2007, marking the beginning of a prolific career. With over 30 songs recorded at Fiz Records, his 2009 mixtape "Tumia Pesa Ikuzoee" solidified his status in Tanzanian hip hop. Despite his longevity, GoSby remains influential, often mistaken for a newcomer by younger artists.
