Cersei's order to kill the babies makes sense, but when I think about it, Joffrey would be worried about someone overthrowing him from the throne. And he is a cruel sociopath, so that makes sense too! Also I always thought why Cersei's first baby was never mentioned again. Maybe she was just playing some psychological game with Lady Stark - she was afraid that Bran would die, so she told her a story about that random baby to scare her in some way? I even heard a theory that the baby is actually Gendry, but that seems unlikely.

When it comes to that "first black haired baby" it is never mentioned by anyone else and cerci later says she always avoided having sex with Robert and the one/few times she did she had Jaimie get her moon tea to make sure she miscarried, so the simplest explanation here is that she was lying to catlyn

I haven't seen much of the show, but maybe this other child and Joffrey were fraternal twins, with Joffrey born 2nd? In the clip at least, she just says "first boy". That could explain how people didn't really know about the other one since a child lived and makes Joffrey's aging still fit the time-line.

That would be impossible, the first child was very clearly conceived by Robert, whereas Joffrey was conceived by Jaime

@@StoryDiverTrue in the case of identical twins (one egg splits) It actually can happen with fraternal twins (two different eggs) if the woman is, um, "with" two different men close together during that time. It's definitely rare though.
