This is simply an amazing song. I think that pouring your feelings out lyrically is rather cathartic but as you state, it can also make you feel that same pain and heartache you had and to some extent, still have. I feel the same about the song Save Me. Every time I hear both of these songs, I tear up as both songs are so beautifully written and are so meaningful. I watch the video for Too Much Love Will Kill You and you look so sad and your eyes are filled with tears which conveys to me that the song or the memories bring you a lot of pain as well as doubt in yourself. I hope you are doing well. Please keep rocking, Dr. May.

Thank you Mr May for being so generous and graceous to your fans, thank you for honoring your own legacy, Queen legacy, Freddie's legacy, Roger and John's legacy and I don't know if you realise how much your fans appreciate it. I grew up with Queen music and it is in my DNA. Thank you and Roger for helping with the movie, it is a masterpiece, just like each and every of your timeless, legendary songs. It is amazing seeing today's generation discovering and appreciating the depth and genius of your music. Every Queen song takes the listener on a journey and I hope you watched the reaction videos on KZbin, the emotions, the tears, the appreciation, the comments from everybody from professional music teachers to opera singers, to hip hop and other artists to everybody who enjoys music, there's nobody that is not deeply moved. By the time they've listened to a couple of songs, they've become hardcore fans. To me, some of your songs grabbed me immediately. However, some songs I fell in love with when I listened to a few times. I don't understand why the more I listen to those songs, the more I love them. I hope you read this. I hope you send a short reply so I know you've read my message. I hope you know how much you mean to millions of people. I love your solo records too. I hope that you come to Australia when the pandemic is over on your own or with Queen and Adam Lambert. I hope that I get a chance to come to see you and bring my daughter and her girlfriend to the concert. It is on my bucket list. Very impressed with your work saving the animals and the planet. It's a crazy world out there, it's so wonderful that this world is blessed with such inspiring and generous people like you. Thank you for the gift of timeless masterpieces you and Queen created and good luck with all your current and future endeavours.

Every time I have heard Brian's voice singing this song, I have wished he would have sung more of his songs himself. Freddie's voice is perfection so on many he has said once he heard Freddie sing it, it was so much better than him so it went to Freddie. Ok, I agree, but Brian's version here is gut-wrenching & it is powerful in a different way. No 4 octaves, but Brian delivers a part of his soul in this song & we love it. His voice is perfect for this & others like Save Me since he lived the words, therefore we hear that in his shaky, emotional delivery. Brian,, I hope 🙏 with all my heart that you know that you ARE also a LEGEND as are Roger & John. Freddie would be thrilled you are still performing. Bless you.

@@brianmay7300 This may be the most important reply I've ever written. Queen was introduced to me when, sadly, my now deceased pianist/ songwriter friend played Queen 1 for me. Keep Yourself Alive & LIAR spoke to us here in America. We fell in love & lived our lives discussing music. As a musician we heard Queen's 1st album & went crazy for your distinctive guitar... we listened to your albums morning noon & night, it was such beautiful music, each song a miracle to our ears. But Larry came down with MS & lost his ability to play his piano & decided he could not live his life without being able to create music, so at the young age of 35, he put a Queen album on his turntable, I don't know which, & took enough prescribed meds to end his life. He told all of our inner circle of close friends his plan... & explained that he couldn't live without his music be cause it pulled him thru the tough times in life, & it would be simply impossible for him to live happily. DOES THIS REMIND YOU OF ANYONE BRI? Freddie stopped taking the AZT because he probably couldnt face a life unable to perform, play, create, sing & have a life WORTH LIVING. For many years I have wanted you specifically to hear the unfinished song he & I were writing which sums up so beautifully what he felt about his dilemma which I realized in 1991 it sounds like a perfect goodbye from our sweet Freddie. The words will make you cry knowing how Larry wanted to leave the world with a song that also coincidentally fits Freddie's leaving us. I have always wanted to send you the lyrics but had no way to do so. Is there any way I can get them to you without risking someone stealing the song? I trust you implicitly & wonder if you might even consider finishing it since Larry died before we finished writing it ... as you did by finishing Freddie's song Mother Love for the Made In Heaven album. I believe that you will unequivocally love this song & see its as if Freddie wrote the words. I realize you are a very busy, in-demand musician but even if you just finish writing the song & maybe sing it on TikTok, I would give anything to just have it finished. Yes. I have tried but I'm not in yr caliber, lol ! I do know yr busy, but can I send the half-a-song to you & let you think about it? I'm sending u my email. If u can send me an address to send it to,perhaps a business or P.O.Box or anywhere it would be safe from nare-do-wells? I'm so anxious for you to see how it fits our Freddie stopping his aids meds & giving his reason why he had to let go. You & Roger must miss him, he was like yr brother . My email is coopersusan503@ gmail.com, I'm in Oregon in th USA. I can't believe I am finally doing this 🤗. Bless you, Brian

Ciao Mr. May, sorry for being again me 🙋🏻♂️ I don't want to sound like a stalker. But this Song, when came out also in Italy around 1992, was one of the first I've practiced on piano/keyboard. And despite not knowing english language back then (not that today...) made a huge link between music/lyrics and all the listeners. At home was always the preferred one not only by me or my parents: but everytime there were guests or relatives it was the song to be played 2, 3, 4 times more. I think it's a pure Gem. As pure is the heart that has written it. Such a great Song. And I still remember that at the FMtribute you presented it as "...the reason I play this...is because I've not anything better to play..."😵 There are still "musicians" that would pay or donate an internal organ to be capable to write a Song like this!! To me it's a clear example where the feeling inside a song goes over barriers like languages, cultures, habits...pardon me if I find a huge link between You and Zucchero: He has the "blues" inside, You have this. I can't imagine the combination of You both what a masterpiece of Art can create 💙💙💪💪✨🪐💥💫🔥🌜🌞🌛 Best wishes Doctor May, you still rock all the Cosmos👍👍👍

Musical compositions written in an emotional outburst, in an attempt to convey something, are listened to and perceived by the listener much more seriously than songs written for the sake of selling. Songs such as "Too Much Love Will Kill You" - penetrate deep into the heart and are perceived after many years as something dear, something spiritual, something of their own. It's both part of you and part of the songwriter at the same time.
